ToonUSA I'm still waiting on my buddy to get the ticket situation sorted for my LA trip in August but I got the green light from the wife.:p I'll be staying with a friend in Hermosa Beach. How far from Carson is that anyways?

Eh probably 20-25 minutes depending on traffic. Although I could be wrong seeing as how I'm not from around there. August!? You're going to miss out on the Chelsea match. I'll be there with my black and white stripes and my Newcastle flag. I'm gonna try and buy tickets close to the field so I can hang my Newcastle flag on the railing.

Yea, I wanna go to the Chelsea match and make fun of the plastics. I think Toronto is in town in August. That would be an intriguing match-up. If you fancy I have Angels season tickets and I could see what we have for August.

I've had mine for six years so I wouldn't know, but I'm sure I'll get the post-9/11 pearly-white-pulling passport-procurement process pushed past me before too long. How's that for alliteration? ;)

Oh, and of particular interest to Travis - likely - my passport was obtained to go to Romania.

Mission work with a little tourism in the middle. A month in July '01 I'll never forget to be sure. Stayed mostly in Sibiu but got to Bran, Brasov and Bucuresti as well. Good times.

My dad ran into a missionary lady who was working with the gypsy children in Sibiu. Outside of Bucuresti it's kind of depressing huh?

I get that anytime I say I went on a mission. But mine was only a month and I didn't get the crap kicked out of me, so nope. :D

We dealt with the villagers on the outskirts of town, mostly. The cities are fine, really, it's the villages that are where they need the most help. I rather liked Sibiu proper, it was the villages that got to me (mentally) a little. The scenery is awesome, though, and the people were generally really nice and welcoming to all of us.

Mine was incredibly easy to get. All I had to do was fill out a few sheets, give them my birth certificate and some pictures, and I had my passport in a few months.

What is making yours so difficult?

Because I didn't have a few months. I found out like middle of February we were going and we leave in 2 weeks from today. No worries though I went down to the regional passport thing in Santa Monica and got it all squared away. I payed 60 bucks more but I get it on monday.

I also found out I get to spend a total of 4 hours and 20 minutes in England. :D Toal duration on trip to Amsterdam 14 hr. 25 min. Return trip 18hr and 30 min.
