Deserving of his own thread dont you think? The man had yet another "Superman" performance yesterday against the Hammers. Quickly becoming my favorite CD.
Anyways, if you havent already heard....looks like he's been named to Senegal's National Team today.

He and Murty are gonna miss out due to injuries, per the team's website.
I figure Senegal's coaches are going to get sick of him a) begging off or b) not playing due to whatever reason, so Reading will be able to keep him come international matchdays after a while...

He was never going to play for Senegal this week. I guess instead of outright refusing this time, he just decided to be conveniantly hurt. He just doesn't want to play for them. And its beginning to seem like he never will. Senegal obviously thinks highly of him, because they keep asking him to come, and with a lesser player I assume they'd just stop trying. He may be holding out for France now that he knows he'll get some recognition in the Premiership. And if thats what he is doing, he's making a damn good case for himself.
I didn't get why Murts was named to Scotland's roster. It seemed like he'd definately want the time to get back to full strength.

Yeah I was confused as to why there was so much talk about being possibly named to the FNT.
Thanks for clearing that up.

By Boxing Day, will he have the rep of one of the best CBs in the prem? I think he's on his way. You keep hearing such references, during broadcasts, in columns, in fan sites...
But yeah, it's clear 1. that he doesn't want to play for Senegal if he has a chance at France 2. Senegal really want him (they have yet to even complain and he's now turned down four calls, and they keep calling. They're turning into Mike (favreau) in Swingers:eek: ) and are willing to wait and 3. France don't seem to be interested, though is he a great replacement for Thuram or what?
OTOH, refusing callups because he doens't feel attached to Senegal is not a bad thing, and it's allowed him to focus entirely on Reading.
But, I think most of us expected Sonko to perform in the prem. The shockers to me are how well the other three have done. I wondered about II's and Murty's pace and Shorey's phyicality, but they've adjusted pretty well already. And now, with coppell calling for Sonko to get a France callup and Shorey to get an England call, they could have prem creds.

It's amazing how he's progressed since joining a couple of years ago. He was dominant in the air from the start, but he used to be perhaps the worst passer of the ball, including goalkeepers, I think I've ever seen playing professionally. It was as if he had toblerones for boots, and there used to be an audible collective gasp of breath from the crowd every time he tried to pass the ball more than 5 yards. Half the time he used to play it safe and knock it to Ivar to actually pass the ball, but there were times when you were forced to watch through your fingers as he attempted a cross-field pass.
It can be odd though that the players you expect to make the step up easiest aren't always the ones who do.

I cant think of too many players today who still hold their hands behind their back when the opposition take a shot.
Trademark.

Does he have a jetpack on his back! He is a major asset for you and has been your best player, or at least one of the best.

Of course, the cool bit here is that he's not jumping, simply hovering.:D
