Hello, all.

Seeing as how I am American, I feel it's high time I support the MLS!

But who should I support?

I'm look for a team that's:

1) Somewhat near my hometown of Tampa, Florida (what happened to the Wolves?)

2) Doesn't have to be a team that always win, but I don't want a losing team that never makes it to the playoffs, either.

3) MUST PLAY WITH STYLE! I want to enjoy watching my favorite team. Must play with an attacking mentality, flicks, turns, all that tricky stuff.

That's it, really. I'm most interested in #3.

Soooo... please help me choose a team! :)

if you want #3, Chivas USA...there isn't a team anywhere close to Florida in the MLS. Closest is DC United I think. The Florida teams went away a few seasons ago.

FC Dallas is God's team.

Why do you have DC united listed as a club you support, yet you are asking complete strangers who you should support?

glad you are supporting mls, but only you can pick your team. everyone will tell you to support their team and give you a list of why.
Mine's the revs.
Here's why you shouldn't support them.
1. They have never won anything
2. The FO cares only about the MLS Cup and puts no effort into the supporters shield, the CCC, or the USOC.
3. In our oevrall history, we have a total record of mediocrity.
4. We have the lowest salaries in the league and are really cheap with our players.
5. We have tons of allocations that we never use.
6. Our stadium is way too big so it's cavernous
7. adding to number 6, our avg attendence is only around 12k.
I got a few more, but this is enough.

I'm a season tix holder, next year I'll be a season tix holder. I love this team! I'm revs till I die!

BTW you've got the A league miami FC down there if you want to catch some live games.

For us who do not have an MLS team in our city, it's not that easy choosing a team when every year you have some sort of drastic re-branding. It gets confusing. :o

I'm leaning towards Houston Dynamo now. But then in two years they will be something completely different... and it can throw off someone because the attachment is distant, not as strong.

Yeah DC United, Crew, Wizards, and Fire have remained intact... for now. But Galaxy's change to me signals that hell just broke loose. I see Columbus, KC, and Chicago doing a 180 turn within the next 4-5 years.

Well, I got out a map and measured the closest team.

By your criteria, I would say DC United or Houston. And swith once Miami or Atlanta get a team.

If you want a team that WILL make the playoffs, that WILL win Concacaf Champions Cup, and that WILL win MLS Cup 2007. You have to pick DC United. I support DC and i live in Minnesota.:)

Ya'll have to get past us for that CCC trophy...oh, and not shamefully loose to the Revs of all people in the playoffs for the MLSC ;) :)

See you in a month!

Only 3 teams fit your "fun to watch" criteria and that's:

Chivas USA - but they're in LA, paying too much money to the Galaxy for a field to play on, so they're out
Houston (San Jose) Dynamo (1836, Earthquakes, Clash) - but you like stability, something they have never had just based on all their names, and plus, being in Fla you can't possibly root for anything in Texas ......
so that leaves the best choice, DC United :D

I can't tell you who to support but I can tell you that you will not be happy if you choose Columbus. We'd love to have you, don't get me wrong. But I didn't see "agonizing over talent that never materializes", "watching young promising careers die quickly", or "most ties in the league" on your list so I don' think we'd be a good fit for you.

The Revs have also been in the conference finals for the past 5 years and 3 MLS Cups...So success is inevitable at some point.

So basically if you want to root for the buffalo bills of the MLS then pick the revs.
