Head coach Stephen Hart announces his roster for October 8th match date

Stephen Hart
Ottawa, Ontario - Canada’s men’s senior team is geared up to face Jamaica for game two of their home and away series. Earlier today, Head coach Stephen Hart announced the official roster that will compete in Kingston, Jamaica on October 8th.

Hart will be counting on this squad to shoot for a second consecutive victory against the reggae boys. A win in the tropic island would extend Canada’s unbeaten streak to five games.

Hart’s troop met Jamaica in an earlier match up this fall, outplaying their opponent to a 1:0 win on September 4th in front of an animated crowd in Montréal, Québec.

Hart is determined to bring an all-rounded effort to the pitch. Among the noticeable, Hart will be counting on the expertise of striker Tomasz Radzinski to pressure and create an offensive disturbance for Jamaica’s back four. Rob Friend, who scored the winning goal in Montréal, will also take part in the Canadian line-up. Canada’s midfield will be controlled by stronghold Atiba Hutchison while goalkeeper Greg Sutton will once again be available to look after the goal line.

“Playing in Jamaica will obviously be very different from recent games we have played. The climate must be considered and at home Jamaica, with their passionate supporters, has proven difficult for most opposition. However it’s a challenge I am sure the team looks forward too.”

Canada will embark in another quest in Europe in mid November, facing a strong Hungarian team in Budapest, Hungary on November 15th, 2006

Atiba is playing as an offensive mid with FCK so I would switch him with DeGuzman. I hope we won't see Stalteri in the midfield, I think he belongs to the right back position.

True, switch those 2 guys. I always think of Atiba as a holding mid with Canada, but that would be both of their natural positions at their respective clubs...

Funny how I was the only one who knew Lars would be picked for neither of the Jamaica friendlies. Everyone else on here insisted he would be picked for one, that he was only excluded from the NMT because of Yallop, blah blah blah. Of course I was the only one who knew what I was talking about, Lars being excluded from the MNT has nothing to do with Yallop as the evidence is being shown now, Yallop is gone, 2 games since nothing changes just as I knew would happen, and others were too blind to see. Naturaly I was also the only one who could see it is very obvious he would be picked for neither game, you do not get picked for games when you have been permenantly excluded from the MNT since almost 2 years ago.

It is not unheard of for players to make themselves unavailable for the national team for any number of reasons, Kristine Kiss did it for a number of years while she was playing professionally in Europe.

maybe he is just not considered good enough

That is supposed to be part of a credable argument.

Actually I am not the one here who is incredably stupid. I am not the one who expected to see Lars picked for 1 of 2 Jamaica friendlies when it was obvious he has been permanently excluded from Canadian Soccer long ago to anybody who can think with an ounce of common sense, yet I was pretty much the only one who believed he would be chosen for neither game, most were naive as to expect him to play atleast 1 of those games(ROTFL!). I am not the one who said Frank Yallop was the main reason Lars was not playing for so long before, which has now been proven clearly wrong as I expected it would. I am not the one so clueless and naive as most of you to say Sutton and Hirschfeld are on par as the #1 MNT goalkeeper, or Lars slightly ahead because of his current club situation when he has been only asked to one lowly friendly(while injured)by the MNT in the last almost 2 years. I am not the one who believe Statamapolous is behind Lars in the pecking order when he has been asked to each of last 6 friendlies and started 3 of them, while Lars was only asked to 1total, including multiple games under 2 different coaches of course.

Conclusion I am not the one smart enough to be in touch with reality, the ones who are the stupid ones are not.

Maybe Rosenborg are looking as though they may win the league and don't want to fudge about with team chemistry.

Yes maybe there is a logical excuse for him not being picked for 9 of the teams last 10 games, that has nothing to do with him being excluded from the MNT for a long time now. Some of you are so naive and clueless to reality. :D

One of a group of individuals who does not have a clue what is going on calling somebody who has been right on absolutely everything he said would happen an idiot. Now that is rich. :D

One does not to have any relation to Soccer Canada to have figured out almost 3 years ago a plan put in place to gradualy diminish Lars' role in Canadian Soccer, and almost 2 years ago to exclude him permenantly. It would only require some common sense, no Einstein reasoning would have been needed to figure that out. However it is apparent many fans are too clueless and naive now a full 20 months later to even clue in to what would be obvious to anyone with common sense long ago. Naturaly I end up being continously right, and the naive and clueless end up continualy confused. Almost 2 years of proof, and to a lesser extent another year before that is not sufficient for the naive and clueless.

Also the naive and clueless simply take the theory it was due to Yallop. Well Yallop is gone now and nothing has changed. The most popular theory by the naive and clueless has been blown out of the water.

The most popular theory by the sane and socially well-adjusted, that being that cuddles24 is a fool, has been proven time and again.

Maybe it's "naive and clueless" to dismiss the possibility that Lars was and is considered not good enough to make the top team. Regardless of whether this is true or not it might well be the reason for his lack of selection.
