I've got to stop having late nights out before a game. I slept through the whole thing. :(

On the bright side, it looks like we won 2-1 with goals from Bentley (45) and McCarthy (81) after giving up a second minute goal to Heskey of all people.

Friedel went off injured, but I'm not sure why yet. I need to check on that.

I just caught up on the minute by minute report. Ooijer gave up a penalty, but Jason Brown came up huge against Todorov and made the save and then saved Scharner's rebound effort. The fans started singing "Are you Friedel in disguise?" :D

Absoloute disgrace. It's time one or two (or about 8 in fact) pulled their fingers from up their arses and put in a performace.

And it was McCullouch with the rebound after the penatly.

Ah. The match report said Scharner. Shame on the writer. :D

the game had it all...Rovers were out of it for most of the first half...a 2nd minute goal will do it...but Bentley plucked a goal right out of thin air right before half-time to shift the momentum. Half time ends, Jason Brown trots out and I was quite nervous. Brown pulls the three successive saves and Benni Mac goes down and scores to put us ahead. Savage had a good free kick that brought out a top drawer save from Kirkland and Gamst was doing well. I'll take a good 90 minute performance from Gamst over spectacular goals any day...well just as long as we win...

Jeffers started in place of Nonda who had a knock from Salzburg and sounded like he was really lively especially in the second half. And Friedel went off with a slight groin tweak...SHOULD be back for Liverpool. Usually I hate International breaks but with Friedel, Nonda, Reid, and even Savage needing to heal, I like it.

Good come from behind effort, but the defense is still a bit shaky. Have to clean that up, pronto!

C'mon Rovers!

I knew we could do it.

Chelsea? Arsenal? Man Utd? Who are they? Really! Who are they, when compared to the mighty Blackburn Rovers?

Premiership? Why not the Treble?

we didnt start at all well in the game and were lucky to go in 1-1 at half time.by the way you will proberably all laugh at this bit i missed the goal because i went down to the concourse just before half time to go to the toilet and missed the goal just heard a load chear and thought ffs not again.any way the second half was much beter and should have won by 3 or 4 by the end and now we have jason brown as our new hero goal keeper.

If we want to repeat the good work of last season, team's like Wigan are the ones we should be beating at home, in the very least.

Also, Wigan are missing one vital component compared with last season - they have now lost their surprise element where the opposition is not familiar with their players or their style of play.

Get in there, Rovers!
