I know it's a litlle early guys but hey I need something to look forward to after yesterdays let down.

I think we need a line up that can score some goals. I dont see Momo helping us do that at the moment. Bellamy has had enough chances as far as i'm concerned. He could be the flop of the year. Reina needs to be slapped around a bit to regain some sense....and skill.

No way Momo is going to be benched. He is our tank, he doesn't stop running and disrupts play in midfield. We don't really need him to score goals.
And although I'd love to see a wake up call for Reina, theres no way it will happen. Unless he gets injured, Rafa won't bench him in an EPL game.

I don't get to watch so I can't judge any of the players..

I'm just saying that it's pointless playing stevie on the far right or far left. I think he needs to play more central for us to create chances, maybe we should keep momo in and drop Xabi? I dont know, It's just not working for 'em at the moment.......reina needs something quick smart, he is a nervous reck and very inaffective at the moment, i'm having irregular heart pulpitations every time the ball gets down our end, its not good for heart!

you drop xabi you lose his passing and creativity, terrrrible idea...in my opinion i dont like momo, i know he grinds it up in there and stuff but i dont find him overly effective and he seems to constantly give away posession

Both him and Xabi should start. Momo is getting better at keeping possession and Xabi is back to his A-game. They aren't the problem to our lack of finishing.
We are creating plenty of chances between Stevie, Xabi, Kuyt etc. We just aren't finishing them. NO change will really change that....it is really up to the players themselfs. If anything, Reina is the one who needs a wake up call.

I think that Bellamy should start I reckon that he is tipped to captain wales and this may boost his confidence to get something going in the red colour. Its like the sheva situation at chelsea and jose will not bench him until he scores some kind of policy "score and be benched".
If he plays against blackburn at home who knows he may open his premiership account for liverpool this season against his forme teammates as I see Savage bringing bellamys boots to anfield yep the scoring 1s

Lets not go comparing Bellamy to Shevchenko. Having been the best striker in Europe over the last 5 years, Sheva has earned the right to play his way out of his slump. Bellamy hasn't done anything this season to merit being chosen ahead of Crouch or Kuyt. Even when all 3 are in form, I think Crouch and Kuyt are our 2 best strikers.

The reserves lost 1-4 to Newcastle. For those calling for Dudek's return, he was at his flapping worst, arguably at fault for two of their goals.

True but I was trying to say maybe rafa has that in mind and will keep on playing craig so hat he scores.Crouch had a bad goal drought last season and he was played now he is scoring like mad.

My pick for a sure win formation: :D
---------------Reina---------------

I think Bellamy will get the nod again because he has the quality of a good striker as his pace is always a threat to opponents. He is just short of the first league goal but once he starts scoring he is in for a long haul.
Besides, Rafa always give enough opportunities to the strikers that he brought in, take Morientes as an example although he turned out to be a disaster.

Bit of a slow week. Mickey mouse internationals and all that.
When the fixtures list was released, I think we all agreed that the first 12/13 matches would be very tricky. Well, they've certainly lived to the billing with us winning three, losing three and drawing one (bloody lucky at that). The next six of the dozen are equally as tricky.
Blackburn 14th Oct (H)
Man Utd 22nd Oct (A)
Aston Villa 28th Oct (H)
Reading 4th Nov (H)
Arsenal 12th Nov (A)
Middlesbrough 18th Nov (A)
Potentially there are potentially at least 12 points here. Howeverm, unless we buck up ideas at the back chop chop, I reckon we'll probably get 9 points out of this lot as we continue to struggle on our travels. The run in after this becomes relatively easier, however, and if we can keep up with the front runners, we'll have a chance for a late surge.
Time to cure the travel sickness, I'd say.

The number one striking partnership should be Kuyt & Crouch, with Bellamy to run around like a busy bee with half an hour to go against tired defences.
With three central midfielders and only two spots if we want width to our play, then Stevie, unfortunately, being Mr Fix it, goes out to a side- left or right depending on who's the weaker defender, and Zabi/Momo can run around in the middle.

I think that's about right. Also I wouldn't mind the occasional 4-5-1 to use two wingers bouncing balls off Crouch or Kuijt and leaving SG free to come through from a deeper position.

I still think 4-5-1 is Benitez's preferred formation. With a more refined Pennant and a settled Gonzalez, I reckon we now have the personnel to make it work. However, just as Benitez was set on working on the attackers, the defenders forget all they learned last term and start shipping goals-- mostly hair-tearingly stupid goals. So Benitez has to go back and sort that out. And just when he think he has it sorted, a series of mickey mouse international rudley interrupt.

I think that the Reds should do one of the two things.
1. If Rafa is going to start Bellamy and Kuyt there is no need to start both Gonzalez and Pennant on the wings. They will have enough pace, so the midfield can be Gerrard-Momo-Alonso-And Any Left Winger.
or
2. If Rafa starts Bellamy and Crouch or Kuyt and Crouch then both Gonzalez and Pennant should start with Gerrard and Momo in the center. I know we don't want to give up Xabi's passing and creativity but with our defense being somewhat shaky, I like Momo back in until we get our defense set.

A positive from Saturday's dirge at Old Trafford is that Gerrard will be at Melwood this week, training with whoever is left there. Good for us.

With Kuijt injured with Holland, it'll be Crouch and Bellamy up front or Crouch on his own with a 5 man midfield.

That bulletin on Kuijt doesn't look good. Small wonder Benitez is fuming. And the Netherlands have acted pretty badly, it seems like.

I'd prefer someone next to Crouch up front. We are playing at home, that means we are allowed to score goals and maybe a game against his former team will finally wake Craig up.

I'd prefer Sami because of the physical game Blackburn always brings.
