First, if you could have the 05-06 Highbury jersey or the new 06-08 jersey, which would you want?
And second, where can someone find nice Arsenal t-shirts other than the Arsenal website?
Thanks!

i personally did not like the maroon coloured shirts, but many people i know loved them. i would buy the maroon Highbury shirt only because it is a "limited edition" commemorating the final salute.
Also, www.worldsoccershop.com , www.theonionbag.com
ebay?

While the Red Current stip was a nice gesture to the colours we ware back in 1913 (not to mention a nice little cash cow for the club), Red and White has been our strip since the 30's - another Chapman addition - and as such is the "proper" strip. If you never buy another kit again at least you'll always be in the right colour.

Red with white sleeves, any day, any way you cut it.

Last year's shirt bore a disturbing resemblance to the Redskins throwback jerseys from '94. My friends, who know I hate the Redskins, refer to my redcurrant shirt as the "Redskin jersey" just to piss me off.

Alot of neutral football supporters like Arsenal's redcurrant shirts, but i would choose red and white anyday!
Woohoo, I just got the 'All About Football-Arsenal' trivia game from my aunt for my Birthday! I've been testing myself...my knowledge is very limited, but not bad for a 17 year old I guess. But who am I supposed to play with? My friends ain't gonna wanna play a trivia game that is totally on Arsenal, lol.

I agree with the above post talking about having the highbury jersey because it was a limited edition thing....in fact I just ordered one from soccerplus.net
...the onion bag is ok - stay away from ebay...or if you can't resist, don't purchase anything that is from asia or austrailia, as most are fakes

Thanks for all of your help. I appreciate it. Sounds like Red and White it is. One more question though. How is the sizing of this year's kits? Is a large a little big or a little snug if you normally fit a large? Thanks!

The new kits are slightly more slim fitting than in the past.

One thing to keep in mind is where the kit is coming from. I do believe that if you buy in Europe, you need to up a size compared to the states.

I'm not sure that's the case. I've got Nike shirts bought in the UK and over here and there's no difference in the way they are marked in terms of sizing. The real issue is the cut of the shirt. Newer shirts seem to be tighter fitting and whereas I used to wear a large in Nike sizes, I'm probably now more at an extra large size.

I just looked at some pricing charts and it appears you are correct. Maybe this changed but I remember buying an Arsenal sweatshirt at the Arsenal shop and it being too small even though it was a size I wear normally.
I also noted that Arsenal's website carries 3XLs even though most American sites max out at 2XL.
But looking at sizing charts, I appear to be wrong. Sorry for the bad info.

You're right. It's the way Nike makes the shirts now.
This summer I was at Niketown buying some gear before the WC and asked them about it. The guy I was talking to confirmed they changed the way the make their clothes now and you should always upsize. I'm buying XLs now when I've never had to in the past (and no it's not from gaining weight! :D).
In regards to the questions originally posted, I love my red current jersey but red and white is Arsenal and the way to go.

In my opinion ebay fakes can get you some quality jerseys. You just have to shop around and find a seller that is dependable. Its a great source for cheap jerseys $15-25, and if you ask me its close enough (especially if you plan on wearing it to kit the footie around). One observation though, the Nike and Addidas jerseys seem to be better replicated than the other brands. I managed to get the major WC teams this summer, and will probably outfit my indoor team as I have done in the past with ebay merch. Just watch the feedback and examine the provided photos (logos, numbers and badges, etc.).

I just bought a fake from a guy with 99% feedback and a seller rating of over 600...and it was really poorly done.
however, one thing that ebay is good for is factory seconds (2nd quality). I got an 05 home shirt for $30 that was a second and I couldn't see anything wrong with it.

I've had similar luck. I bought an Henry redcurrant jersey, long-sleeve, for around $25. It was a factory second and I can't see a flaw. Same for a Zidane World Cup jersey I bought for around $20.
