Silly question, but I'm curious if the English sort of have a nickname for the beautiful game like Footy or Footie? Or are these terms only in Australia? Thanks.

No one say soccer in Britian, everyone say football cos that it orginal name and is the right word. The term "Soccer" is used by only three country in the world - USA, Canada and Australia

Why is this Forum site called 'Big soccer' and not 'Big Football'.

I almost missed it thinking it was a forum site for People with extremely large feet.

No way would you ever pronounce the "t", unless you were a posh gi", so it must be "foo - ie"?

Please explain to me, Blizzaro, why I heard the word soccer on the official Arsenal podcast this weekend then?

Arsenal is not an English club ;) Must have been something in that "Invented by the French" after all :)
