Sorry to upset the Blackburn faithful, but as they say, honesty is the best policy. Lucas Neill is one of my least favourite players.
He breaks legs, and doesn't apologise.
He is ruthless and appears constantly agree.
In my opinion, he is not a sportsman.
What do you think?

I've never been his biggest fan at all. He's had a few good games for Rovers but his decisions and timing are suspect. Him and Andy Todd make me nervous any time the ball comes around 'em. I'm not ready to join his Anti-Fan Club, but I won't miss him at all if/when he's sold off this January or let go this summer.

Are there any Blackburn defenders who ARE actually comfortable on the ball, because if there is, I haven't seen him?
That Ooijer may need time to settle in, but so far, his weaknesses have been exploited to the full, by Drogba amongst others.

I want to start out by saying that i didn't see last week's game. However, Ooijer has been AWFUL all year long. Anybody seen improvement?

Man, after Middlesboro and the second game against Salzburg I thought Ooijer was turning the corner, but after his display against Wigan, I'm beginning to wonder. I do not think he was a mistake to buy, and under perfect circumstances we could have let him adjust to the game in the Reserves and such, but with Nelsen and Todd out, we had no choice but to throw him into the fray. That own goal against Man City wasn't really anything you can fault him for, as he stuck his foot out on reflex. However, he was definitely at fault for Heskey's goal and the penalty that was given up. For Ooijer it was two steps forward and 4 steps back...
As for Lucas, I hope he continues to improve in his new position at left back. he's put in some solid performances as well as some bad performances, but he is better than Gray. I'd still rather see him elsewhere come August of 2007, but since he's here this year we might as well get behind him.
The back-line is quite harrowing and I expect Hughesy to really go after at least one center back in January even with nelsen coming back around then (hopefully!). The past two off-seasons have been all about finding the forwards, now it's time to seriously focus on the back-line...Hopefully Hughesy has someone up his sleeve for January...

I tell you what - if we get a solid CB by the time Nelsen comes back, if we're still in Europe at that point, I reckon we could be something of a surprise package. Concentration will be key, however.

And now this. Let him go in January if he's going to be speaking out about it in the middle of the season. We can fashion an adequate backline without him. (http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story?id=383662&cc=5739)

Fair comment. I just think he is one of our defensive saving graces.
