Roberts and Reid are out, but otherwise we're in decent shape for this one. We were unlucky to not beat them a couple of weeks ago, but the performance in Austria looks to have gotten things going. I think we can finish this tie off tonight.

McCarthy puts Rovers up 1-0 on 32 minutes with a great move on Linke and finish just inside the right post. :)

Bentley nails one from distance that has Radio Rovers calling it one of the best goals ever seen at Ewood. :D 2-0 Rovers.

Ooijer was named man of the match. How things change over the course of a few games.

Nice win here. It was really never in doubt, and thankfully we got over our poor run in Europe. Let's hope for a nice draw in the groups.

Yes!!!!!!!

Dave Bentley is like Joe Cole and David Beckham rolled into one. Watch a legend! Benters, my son! You're a ledge!

Overall, a very good performance. I feel, obviously that we will end up facing tougher opposition in this tournament from now on, but after that performance, I feel we'll be able to hold our own.

Well, at least we won't fall at the first hurdle like West Ham, or Hearts!

I heard that Red Bull Salzburg ran out of energy, ironically enough!

I also heard that their manager, Giovanni MakesureTonydoesn'tescape, said that he wants Blackburn to go on and win the tournament. You see.....when we start winning, all the bandwagoners and glory supporters start chanting for Rovers.

I really hope Bentley continues his good partnership with Emerton because he does have a tendency to disappear in games. Hopefully this game for him is another step in his development.

Wonderful game and the home fans were in loud voice. Hope dring1 had a great time...and for free no less!!!

The Group stages have a lot of room for Euro exposure with a lot of Spanish, Dutch and Italian sides as possible group opponents. Can't wait for Tuesday's draw!

Sounds like Ooijer is getting his premiership legs under him, but we shall see...

yep i did but i had to laugh at the amount of away fans that turned up though.i think it was a good performance from every one and the mccarthy and nonda partnership is starting to show promise.what i didnt like though was some of salzburg challenges that they made especially on gampst which nocked him out for a few seconds that should have been a red card but thats the only disappointment from the game.all credit to fans in the blackburn end which made it a cracking atmosphire.

Yeah, it seems that if we can fill Ewood Park to some degree, it sounds like a proper stadium atmosphere.

I really hope we go far in Europe this year, then we can make a little bit of cash and start buying some proper defenders.

Of course, if we get relegated as a result of not keeping our eyes firmly fixed on the Premiership (like 1998-99) we may get screwed over again.

It would be nice to see my own club in Europe after so long. Any with Hughesy as our boss, we have tactical nouse, as well as the hunger he embeds in the players.
