Don't know why this came to me, but now I find myself compelled to ask.

Since -- say 1966 -- what team has been promoted into the top tier of English football most often? In other words, which fans have had to deal with the agony followed by the ecstasy (followed by the agony, and then more ecstasy... wait here comes some agony. Pardon, do you have the time for more ecstasy?) more than any other?

Thanks in advance.

Crystal Palace would seem the obvious one, although whether that is actually true or not I'm not going to find out. You could try checking out the tables on RSSSF.

Palace, West Ham and Sunderland - 6 times each

Then Man City, Boro and Nrowich - 5 times each.

Leicester have been promoted 6 times as well.

You're right. Somehow put West Ham (4 times) in instead.
