does anyone else find they can only play soccer video games in the classic Arsenal, over-elaborate style? I am basically unwilling to score in Winning Eleven unless its nasty volley, a cracker from outside the box, or a beautiful one-touch walk-it-into-the-goal type goal.

I just started playing pro evo on my computer, and I've found it extremly difficult to score unless i pass the ball around the box a million times to create some space for my attackers.

I try to unless I'm losing, then I go for the set-pieces. I hate scoring off/winning games by PKs though...

well, I won't talk about my video game form at the moment, but I will say that my sandwich assembly certainly has gotten elaborate. I can't just spread the mustard right on there, oh no; instead I have to put some on one part of the bread, then back up and spread the other way, avoiding any direct progress, then go near the edges, avoiding the center, toward the crust...yesterday I missed the bread entirely...
sorry.

If I am beating my friends too badly with Arsenal I'll switch over to Lyon and play with them..
I just try to get fouled so I can have Juninho step up and take one of his signature free kicks.

Once you crack the highest difficulty level it's the only way to keep interest. Always go for the spectacular and if not sneak a 'boring' goal near the end to ensure the win. Unless you are playing a mate and want to really put them in their place. :p

The past few FIFA's you could not pick Arsenal under Manager mode right away (unless you unlocked the feature doing a bunch of challenges). If you did unlock the feature to pick any club, it was hard because your budget was so low you would go bankrupt pretty fast. So I ended up picking QPR for one of my Manager Modes and slowly but surely got my Manager Presitge up and then I could pick Arsenal with better sponsors. Unfortunately some players had either got transfered or retired by the time I did it that way. I definitley try to be creative with my playing. Sometimes my friends want to play as Arsenal with me and I yell at them half the match because they suck. :)
The next batch of footie games should be good. I plan to get FIFA 07 and Winning Eleven.

I thought I was the only one with that problem. I pass the ball around so much in and around the box looking for the perfect goal that I was starting to lose games. Something like what Arsenal are prone to do. Also, whenever I cross the ball into the box there is no one there or the players can't direct it in 90% of the time! Pisses me off when my friends taking Brazil seem to score everytime they cross into the box or take a corner.
Fortunately, I discovered that Gilberto and Pires (playing PES4) can lob the keeper from the half-way line and Vieira, Henry and Pires have some nasty shots just outside the penalty box. So now I can blast the ball in from distance whenever I can't pass it into the net anymore. :)
Oh yeah, has anyone tried the move of going near the goal-line just beside a goal post and pressing the pass button strongly to pass it into goal off a defender? Nice move to make ur friends score an own goal. ;)
