Adu's strengths are: Quickness; Light feet; Willingness to shoot; Being pretty good playmaker from the Wing; and Free Kicks

He may be a "pretty good" playmaker from the wing, but he's a great playmaker in the middle.

Weaknesses are: Not the fastest around (quick, YES, but not fast); Lack of Defense (has absolutely NO concept of First Defender); don't think that's a big deal Dribbles INTO trouble (instead of OUT of trouble); Hospital Balls (lazy back passes that are intercepted by Opponents); Don't agree with this, he's gotten MUCH better at that, to the point that it's not a problem or a weakness[/quote] No more growth spurts (not a real "Weakness" but he isn't growing taller than he is and he will only get so much more muscle on him - He will stay a slightly built winger) Disagree with that, firstly i don't think h's slightly built, I don't think he'll get any taller but think he'll get larger. He doesn't have facial hair. he's not done maturing and I don't know many who don't gain muscle and strength after they're 17. He's said his ideal is to be at 160 pounds.

My take is that there will not be big enough offers for him to leave DC United next year - He'll stay and improve as much as he wants to - (MUCHO BIG question mark here!!) - Maybe after that his will expectations drop off, he'll accept a lesser offer in 2009

Disagree, if his agent is in negotiations with top teams around the world I think he'll get a good offer. And his contract is up after he turns 18 I believe anyway(or after next season at least) though I think he'll go before then.

I also think it's hard to focus in a league in MLS when you know you're heading to bigger teams soon. It's hard to get excited about the game when you're just trying to maybe not get injured(in a hackfest league) until you can go to Europe. I remember reading that in regional games, he'd look like any other player, but in games with the youth national team he'd look amazing. Because of the higher competition he'd have more drive. I feel that it'd be the same in Europe.
