Does this guy have a future at Liverpool? I mean the way Liverpool is setup right now with gus like Garcia, Gonzales, Zenden and sometimes Riise operating on the left side of midfield I really think that Harry should consider his future with the club!! I know that he is injured right now but so far for the 2 years that he has been here he just does not seem to fit in well with Benitez's style of play? I must admit that towards the end of last season his play improved dramatically but overall he is no where near the calibre of player that he was when he was playing for Lees United? I say if his play is still mediocre by the time he recovers from his injury Liverpool should really look into selling him as soon as possible!

When fit and game-sharpened, Kewell is a arguably the best in the squad at his position and meshes excellently with the style of play favoured by the team, as can be seen from his performances when he first joined Liverpool and in the latter part of last season.

The key phrase here being "when fit". While I would have no hesitation saying that a fit Kewell would give Gonzales a lookout (and potentially even keep him out of the lineup), the reality is that he's never fit and perhaps isn't necessary in the squad given the cover available there. On the other hand, the argument is that Rafa is building depth and he wants two high-calibre players in each position to keep everyone sharp and on their toes, so Kewell still has a place.

At the end of the day I don't think Liverpool has much to lose by letting him regain his fitness from this latest surgery, and then see how he does after that. It's not worth selling him until he's fit anyway, and if he gets back to playing how he was at the end of last season again then he can still be an important contributer to the club. If not, there's no shortage of clubs needing players on the left who would be interested in taking him off Rafa's hands.

I think Kewell is very under-rated .. His perfomances last season (towards the end) were awesome .. But according to Rafa's rotation policy, i think he'll get most of the games over Gonzalez .. If fit ..

Expect Spurs to add him to their European Midfielder Mountain next year.

If he moves at all, I reckon he'll end at Inter Milan-- his wife said something like that when she was lost in that jungle?

He's not under-rated at all. Why do you think Liverpool supporters have been so down on him? Cause they know what he's capable of. He did it last season, but it took him awhile.

I'd love to see him come back, but he's spent more time in rehab than on the field. Huge salary + amount of injuries = it may be time to part ways when we get a decent offer.

The problem for Spurs was the huge wages Kewell commands. But the fact he will be in London may sway the mrs who is looking for a tele job and may take lower monies.

I think we could still get some decent cash for him and unload the wages. I think that would be the best idea as we have some youth at his position.

I'm tired of waiting around for Harry. I know he played well at the end of last season, but he's such a twat and constantly in the physio room that it just doesn't seem worth it.

We'll wait till he's fit, puts in a good showing or two, then unload him for a decent offer. Spurs desperately need someone on the left (among many other things) and that sounds like the most likely destination.

I've always wanted him to turn it around, but I think it's readily apparent that he will never be a consistent player. With Gonzalez, Riise, Aurelio, and Garcia, we have all the depth we need at LM. No need to throw 'Arry into the logjam.

From Football 365:

"He constantly wants sex because he thinks he can wear his groin out if it's being fixed. It's exhausting" - Sheree Murphy, Mrs Harry Kewell. So at least he is getting some action this year then.

He's probably got an ultimatum and Sydney Doc's may be his last shot. I'm reasonably confident (not sure what to base it on though :)) that Rafa's rotation policy combined with Kewell's fitness issues will pay dividends.

pfff give him a break. you saw him against croatia and brazil at 50%
better than gerrard.

yeh yeh your going to tell me im an idiot for saying that but who cares. What did gerrard do in the world cup he kicked a goal against trindad a weak side wat a legend. I am sick of all these overrated english football players. Oh wait harry kewell,Lucas neill and tim cahill they all suck to you because the are australian. Tim cahill is rated the 5th best player and 2nd best midfielder in english premier league at the moment. Im an Liverpool supporter and im sick of you guys bagging lucas neill saying he wouldnt have been good enough to fit into the english 1st side. umm why do

Its really foolish to think that kewell is not worth it at liverpool some of the fans think with their f[]cking balls here.Look at our cover on the left hand side personally I think rafa is being careless on the left side.
Riise is a natural LB not some1 with the control you want from a left midsided player.
Gonzalez has only won a work permit in liverpool not a bloody regular place in the squad.
Aurelio looks confused here is it the scouse accent???
In the bolton game stevie started on the left handside side for f[]ck sake.We need kewell back he is talented and some of you are not if you are go ahead and tell rafa to put you in the team.

He's only worth it if he's fit - and rearing to go. He showed signs of value during an all-too-brief spell last season, but beyond that you have to go back to his first 10 games with the club (now three bloody years ago!) to see him earning his wages. At 120 games in three years, pulling down £3.5m a year, we're talking £87,500 a game. I don't care how thin we are down the left, if he's spending most of his time on that kind of deal down in Australia getting his tush tweaked, then he's not worth that.

Kewell is a talented player - but has he proved a good investment for Liverpool? No. Does he still deserve indulgence at Liverpool? Not at this rate.

Thats true Matt, liverpool cant keep paying his wages while he gets his groin sorted out.If he comes back is there any possibilty that his wages are pulled down and he accepts it like a man,or does he have some sort of clause in his contract.

Kewell = Frustration. Level headed liverpool fans will admit he is missed on the pitch right now. He's one of the best 80,000 a week players on the books anywhere in the world.

The media reports are he's out at least till the 2nd half of the season so instead of repeating what's been posted, lets keep the handbags out of it til then

we lost 2-0 to bolton jesus. i think are defence need fixing i mean they give away goals every game. or is the midfield the problem? yeh what we need is kewell and Lucas neill i could bet my life they would be going way better with them two.
