Kevin Bond - Statement

NEWCASTLE United has terminated Kevin Bond"s contract.

There is no further comment from the club.

Short and sweet on the club's part, just how I like my statements.

My question is this: Is it fair to give someone the sack for what amounts to little more than educated conjecture? Now I haven't seen the Panaroma program, not being in England and all, but I gather it's mostly speculative and all that.

Second question is, who do we get to replace him? I saw reports linking Carver with a return from Leeds a few days ago, but the source escapes me.

Bond is recorded as saying he'd consider receiving payments. That's not all that speculative. If you have someone on tape saying they'd accept illegal payments, he has to go.

Carver is putting his hat in the ring for the permanent Leeds job. If he wins a couple more games, Bates'll have him cheaper than Curbs, Raineri or Hoddle.

Thx,

Jay!

Another short and sweet piece, this from the Rivals site (http://bournemouth.rivals.net/default.asp?sid=913&p=2&stid=8439778) for Bournemouth, where Bond is now the manager.

According to the Sunday Papers, Kevin Bond has instructed his solicitors to take on Newcastle United for wrongful dismissal. Bond is also taking on the BBC after their comments about him in the Panorama programme about bungs in September 2006. Bond was put on gardening leave by Newcastle United after the programme was shown and his contract was terminated shortly afterwards.

Don't know what that means in terms of whether this is strictly a thing involving FF, but if he wins a substantial amount in damages, could this possibly affect our transfer/contract plans? I'm no expert on the way these things work.
