I'm getting nervous now, Portsmouth have only conceaded 1 goal all season and we've only scored 2. Got to try and get a result here to kick start are domestic season.

Prague is first on Thursday, hopefully we don't get any more injuries.
ArSol is returning with Portsmouth. Aswell as Sean Davis and Pedro Mendes and possibly Noe Pamarot.
I do think this is the game to start our season.

...you would hope that a win at home against Prague and then a victory against Southcoast Spurs would be a catalyst for the season. it needs to start soon, as i can't take the constant negativity on the Spurs forums.

Agreed, I've been staying away from here and COYS more than usual just because I don't want the negativity multiplying like an alien spawn in my head.....

Before yesterday's result for them vs Bolton I was scared, now.. less so, but every game fills me with fear at the moment. Especially as I don't get to see them!!

Thanks for starting the thread Colm ... I'm feeling a little better already.
At first glance, I thought this might be a game against a group of guys who really really really want to beat us, because we gave them the shaft by benching then trading them. But looking at it now, hell, dunno who will actually play for them, and we have so many new faces I'm not sure the former Spurs will really be as jazzed for the game as I first thought.
In any event, we should win. We must win. Time to turn around the leaky boat and start regaining our rightful place in the table. We'll win ... because this much talent can't keep misfiring forever.

You should have thought of something else...
"Guess who's back...Back again...Campbell's back...Tell a friend..."

On a slightly more serious note, is he still gonna get a really bad reception, even though he's wearing the blue of Portsmouth as opposed to the red of the Mighty Gunners?

Hmm...suppose you don't forget "What Sol Did" that easily. None of that "bygones be bygones" bollocks. And TBH I'm not surprised. Ah well. 2-1 Spurs methinks.

....never forget, he was adored and he ********ed us big time. Unforgiveable in my book.

Sol will still get a bad reception, not as bad as him in a red shirt, Sean Davis will either get nothing or a few boos but Mendes will get a good reception.

....I don't think Davis should get anything other than a clap, same with Mendes. Davis may have had said stuff in the media, but I'd feel pretty pissed if I wasn't given the chance to prove myself.

Yeah, Davis and Mendes never chose to leave, they were frozen out for whatever reason. The fans understand that. But, if Arsenal had lost Ashley Cole to a close rival without getting anything in return (i.e. no Galas), I'm pretty certain they'd be angry at Cole every time he returned to play against Arsenal .... no matter what shirt he was wearing. So yeah, Campbell will receive a hostile reception, and rightly so. He chose this reaction when he decided to leave.

......Davis has had time to prove himself at Pompey and tbh, i'm glad we got rid of him. He's not better than any of the 31 central midfielders we have at the club. Although, I might add, that he would have been a superstar in any of the teams between 1996-2003.
Imho, selling Peter Mendes has been Martin Jol's biggest mistake.

I've always liked Mendes, did a good job whenever he played.
I'm still worried about this, our preformance wasn't good last night and it wasn't as good as most of last season either.
