I was afraid of times like these - when Curbs seemed to be able to steady the ship, and get the needed results. I don't see that thus far, but I suppose we'll see.

I for one am not optimistic though.

Considering the beginning schedule, the injuries, and even the red cards, I'm not so sure Curbs would have done better.

ID's got to change things over to get this team to be better. And I honestly get the feeling this team will improve during the course of the season -- rather than make some early splashes and get our hopes too far up.

I could be wrong. But let's revisit this in January -- after injured players have come back into the squad and we have had a chance to play everyone.

Agree with you completly Hartley the injures have really hurt us even players like Ambrose are going out there with injections to get him through the game ,you might here different on other boards but we dont look like relegation material we had the better of chelski inthe second half were equally as good as portsmouth and Villa and a lot better than bolton,This weekend might just be to much to expect all three points but I believe we should start picking up some wins after that

Yeah, after watching a few of our games, I never really feel like we're being played off the field by any stretch of the imagination. We just need to put away our chances, and get a healthy team out there and we'd at least be getting some draws out of the close matches we're losing.

I have some faith now, I think we're going to pull through.

I'm getting a bit concerned. This is really beginning to mirror what happened to Nottingham Forest two years ago when they got relegated from the Championship. Injuries sent the club into a deathspiral. To try and stop the rot they began buying and bringing in on loan more players for replacements. Just as soon as they got there they became injured usually within the first couple of matches.

This is a real problem for Charlton. When this happened to Forest the transfer window did not effect those below the Premiership so they could keep trying to find replacements. Unfortunately for Charlton, replacements won't be available until January and only for one month.

Yellow cards are also beginning to mount, too. It won't be long before we start seeing match bans on the healthy guys and who are gonna replace them?

I feel sorry for Dowie. This certainly isn't his fault with one exception: He continues to make squad selections based upon how people perform in practice and not on their real skills. How can you continue to not play Rommedahl especially when you are playing Andy Reid on the left?

In the past when we've went on a run of good luck an international break comes in and the club momentum goes down the tubes. Maybe this break will be the opposite and allow them turn it around.
