Who do you think has the quietest atmosphere in the Premiership?

The reason I'm asking is because I watched the Reading game where the crowd was loud the whole game, and then I watched the Villa game. It was so quiet at Villa Park the commentator mentioned that you could hear Ian Dowie screaming over the air.

Out of all the grounds ive been to i'd say Blackburn followed by Liverpool.

Everyone thinks Liverpool is amazing and im sure it is for the big games but their home support is pretty crap for all other matches. I was at the Spurs Liverpool match today and I didnt hear them sing once. The Spurs fans made all the noice. Liverpool only have a good atmosphere for big games, but what teams dont?

Also you cant really judge from TV, you need to be there.

What about the new concrete Arsenal stadium?
Would take some getting used to such a big bland stadium... would have to make a lot of noise for the atmosphere to be there.

yep, it does depend a great deal on how they set up the microphones. All too often you'll see an away goal greeted with silence, when in reality 3000 fans will be making a heck of a lot of noise.

bitter spurs numptyIts true. I was there and the Liverpool fans were silent the whole match. Just cheered for goals and did big growns when one of their players did something wrong. I promise you this.

Can't imagine a lack of atmosphere at Anfield.

I am surprised at the stagnant atmosphere at the new Arsenal stadium though.

Having said that I've been at the Chelsea ground a few times when the crowd has been pretty quiet.

I don't think it is just the small clubs that have the problem.

You'll find that away fans generally outsing the home crowd anywhere, whoever they are. Who would have thought we quiet Arsenal fans wouldn't have heard barely a peep out of those great Newcastle fans last year until they scored. It only took about 70 minutes!

Unless it's a derby match or other big rivalry, you can always rely on a bunch of hardcore fans who travel miles to back their team to outsing home fans, some of whom can't even be bothered to turn up to every home match! It doesn't matter which teams you talk about, that's the way it is.

My old boss is a season ticket holder for Arsenal and I was actually joking that it should be called London Municipal Stadium. He told me that it was actually way better than he expected and the noise level is really high.

yet remarkably when I used to go there reasonably regularly for away games in the 80s/90s it was the most moribund depressing place around, with just that mental bloke with the bell making any noise. They must have put something in the water.
