NOTE TO MODS.

I know there is a thread about the sale of Club Deportivo Guadalajara, but this thread is not solely about the sale of that instalations. Do not merge nor close

Could it be Ex-president, Francisco Cardenas, was right all along about Vergara?

http://www.mediotiempo.com/noticia.php?id_noticia=26276

This is a very interesting interview. I have to admit, before certain things occured (which I will explain later in this thread), everytime I saw or read an interview with ex-Pres, Cardenas, I just thought to myself, "he is just being a sore loser." But one thing he said days before losing the team to Vergara, he said to his club members, in fact pleaded to them by saying something along the lines, "please do not sell, you do not know anything about him (Vergara)?" That caught my attention.

That article talks about the following

1. worrying about one man being able to control Chivas, rather than a board

2. use of club profits to reimburse what they originally paid off club members

3. outside political influences that facilitated ownershipfrom one party to another, (which he believes trace back to the Pine (for those who dont know, Los Pinos is the President's official residence in Mexico). Mentioned that Fox's son worked with Vergara at his company.

4. political influences to delay and discourage ongoing legal claims. He mentions that the courts are finding ways to detour those legal claims.

5. irregular and illegals way to convert the club from a non profit (A.C. = Asociacion Civil) to a corporation (S.A. = Sociedad Anonima).

------------------------------------------------------------------

He brings up interesting issues.

For starters, no one ever knew of Vergara until he put up his company's logo onto Atlas' jersey. Other than that, I do not ever recall really hearing much about Omnilife. I read el Econimista and Proceso and other business type publications, and I dont ever recall reading about an up and coming corporation.

1. his issue about one man controling the board really doesnt concern me. History has shown that a single owner can build a great team, just like a board can destroy one or vice versa.

2. Vergara even admited last year that when he purchased the club, he did not have all the money. Could it be that he did take money from Chivas' assets to pay off the remaining club members? If you think about it, that is like you owning a restauratn, someone coming in to say they want to buy the restaurant, and they use the profts that were already coming in to pay off the rest. IN OTHER WORDS, paying them with their own money. Even if its not illegal, its unethical.

3. That is very interesting claim about the connections Vergara has with Fox. I also wonder the connections he had with Atlas. Antoher thing that I asked myself, "did Vergara approach Atlas for a reason?" The reason I ask this is because the current FMF president at the time was De La Torre. A year before, De La Torre was Atlas' President. Did Vergara approach atlas saying, "i want to have Omniline on you shirt" with the intentions to get his foot in the door, meaning....have a close contact with the current FMF President who still had friends in Atlas?

4. So I do not know with exactness what claims he has, I wont really comment.

5. If in fact he says is true about how they formed the corporation and how they converted the club, then it would be illegal.

-----------------------------------------------------------

The sale of the plane. Although the plane did not belong to Chivas, it did belong to Omnilife.

The removal of sponsorships in which he had to pay 14M USD to dissolve all contracts with Atletica, etc. And funny thing is that he said, "we wont prostitute the shirt anymore" and the irony is---they have been Bimbonized :D If they are hurting for money, those 14 M USD that they wasted could come in handy now.

The JVC Project (where the stadium will be located in) is MONTHS behinds. Last I read, they had not even erected a building. We are in September and Dec is right around the corner? What happened to inaugurating the stadium in Chivas' centennial year?

and the tip of the iceberg as Cardenas put it... they sale the club.... will he be correct in saying that the team will follow?

Why lock it?

Vergara admited he did not have the money when he purchased the club. Where did he get the remaining money? Did he use profits from the club to pay off members?

Vergara rescinded all previous sponsorship deals in which he had to pay around 14 M USD because he felt the shirt shouldn't be prostituted. DID HE NOT SAY THAT? And what did he do? He prostituted the shirt.. and why? Is the club hurting for money?

How far along is the JVC project? How far along is the Templo Mayor project? 2-3 Months ago i read an article that not ONE building had been erected. Did he not say in 2003 that Chivas would celebrate the club's centennial in thier new stadium? Why are those projects falling behind? Is it because they dont have money to proceed? Is it because of all the bureaucratic red tape that goes into contruction? Even its its because they cant agree on a design, they should make public what the deal is.

Why did Omnilife sell its airplane? Are they lacking funds? Was it more viable just using commerical flight?

----------------------------------------------

If what Cardenas says about Vergara's connections to the Pine, I think its something that should be talked about.

3-4 years ago---Cardenas just looked like a sore loser.... but now?? what he has to say does raise eyebrows because of certain things that have happened.

You have to look at it objectively. What does this have to do with starting a thread in America's forum?
