I've been to the Arsenal shop at Finsbury Park, but not the new one at The Grove. For those who have seen both, is the shop in the stadium far superior? It seems like it might be.

I apologize in advance for the rampant materialsm suggested by the question. I promise that my next thread will be about ball physics, xenophobia, or both...

Havent been to the new shop - ques are pretty horrendous. One would imagine that they stock the same lines as the World of Sport/Website, so the only "superior" aspect would be asthetics on the more modern design. But really - who cares about that :)

I haven't been to The Armoury as it is called but I'd say that it is more of a novelty or more special to buy items from the actual stadium store...so when you have the item you can think 'I bought this at The Armoury.'
Of course you could get it at Lillywhites or Sports World for cheaper, but then you don't have that novelty, and if you are getting printing on a shirt, it is plastic, not felt.

:D

Last two times I went to Lillywhites I thought it was kinda creepy. Like, if I really wanted to buy an Arsenal 2005 Christmas advent calendar with removeable Cygan at December 2, I'd only have to spend a pound twenty. Oh, and it was April of 2006 when I saw it....

I actually bought an advent calender from the previous year when I went to Lillywhites in the month of September, seriously!:p

I am simultaneously in great awe and slight fear of you.

Either case, rep deserved, in my odd opinion.

Why thank you!

And does it help to say that I flew all the way back to South Africa with it and kept it until that Christmas and diligently opened a block a day. Infact I still have the empty box im my desk drawer? I can take a picture of it for proof!:p

I've been to both shops and I have to say I liked The Armoury better, but that was just for aesthetic reasons - layout and flow of the space - not because there was any new or secret merchandise you couldn't get at any of the other stores.

Well to be honest, the one in Finsbury was so dull and dreary that I wouldn't really want to go in there...but that was 2 years ago.

Right, so my dad is gonna be in London soon...any idea on the availibility of last years home socks at the club's store? Also, any recommendations for something cool from the club store? I already have soooo many shirts...so gimme ideas!

Oh, and do they still have last year's home shirt in long sleeve or short sleeve at a good price and size?

the armoury is more like a store. its big and has loads of stock out on display. unlike 'arsenal world of sport' at finsbury park, u can try clothing etc on. the armoury is a more user friendly shop but ive got memories of the 'AWOS' going back years, i know it sounds strange but i loved going to that place before a game. it was tiny but had a great atmosphere on matchdays, right outside finsbury park station, where it was packed with gooners
