Outside the window.

I know that any player not under contract can be signed outside the window. But what about other players? Can we only now purchase players within the league set up? What I mean is, can we purchase players from other EPL teams or from teams in the lower professional divisions in England?

Along with that, who might we be interested in purchasing that way?

Lee Hendrie anyone? Couldn't we use another tough-type central midfielder?

Your thoughts?

I know we need defenders -- well we need to get the ones we have to not get red cards and get the others healthy.

But how about a young midfielder -- Scott Brown of Hibs. He's only 21. This about him from Hibs web site.

<<
The natural skills shown by Scott seemed to increase with every first-team appearance, former manager Bobby Williamson admitting that he was surprised by the impact that the player had on the first team. Scott can score with either foot but it is in creating openings from nothing that his true talent has come to the fore, with his trickery and uncompromising attitude rarely to the liking of his opponents! Injury restricted Scott to 20 appearances and 3 goals last season.

Does ID like Scottish players at all? I figure we could get him rather cheep.

I don't think anyone can be bought outside of the window. Must be out of contract to bring a new player in. If teams could deal within the league outside of the window, wouldn't there be deals done the entire season?
