Nice and easy away game here.

Both teams having trouble scoring whilst both managers don't seem to know their best team.

Has 0-0 written all over it doesn't it?

You decide.

I'll take a draw right now.

The back four should remain the same. The midfield is going to be interesting, that is Liverpool's strong area with Gerrard, Sissoko and Xabi Alonso so i would play Davids, Tainio, Zokora and Jenas. Or Huddlestone for Tainio.

If Berbatov's fit i think he should start along with Keane.

------------Robbo
Chimbonda King Dawson BAE
Jenas Zokora Davids Tainio
-----Berbatov Keane

I can't see Berby being back in time for this game.

Mido will probably play; drifting to the left, with Keano playing just about everywhere.

Huddy should be back in for contention for this game also.

More like Mido playing behind Davids, Huddlestone or whoever the Dmid is.

I don't think Liverpool are to be feared at the moment. Our defense and Dmids know how to play, and I think bunkering will only give Liverpool more time to find our gaps. If we want a solid defense, we need to attack Liverpool early and often, IMHO.

No doubt that our back line and our midfield are in a bit of shambles still, but currently the back line is our one and only strength. Our goalkeeping is shakey at best, and our attack is completely disjointed with the constant babbelfish communication of new and changing players. But, it's OK to have a poor attack as long as you get one or two moments of brilliance from them. I say attack and expose Liverpool--whose defense isn't as good as ours at the moment--and try to win this one 3-2.

We need the emotional lift it would provide, and while we're definitely not on form, Liverpool is still ripe for the picking. If it's going to happen, now is as good of a time as any, because the game will be wild and wooly.

Wouldn't be surprised to see him behind Robbo for a few moments.

Bring Erik Edmann back and instead of playing the match, he and Alonso can just have a long range shooting competition.

Throw in Mendes and a couple dodgy linesmen and you got yourself a match.

Liverpool's defense was ripe for the picking by Newcastle yesterday -- attack attack attack!

0-2 Spurs

If my memory serves correctly, we lost this one last year, 1-0 from a Kewell wonder goal, while having Raziak (of all people) hit the bar.

On paper, there's no question that we've improved more that Pool in the meantime, so we're certainly not out of line hoping for a result. However, when we played them last year we were actually "clicking" as a team.

On the plus side, Liverpool don't seem like they've gotten going yet either... and Kewell is out (although they have more than enough quality to compensate).

I think that a draw would be a good result for a stuttering attack like ours. Another 0-0 (where we dominate and threaten but never score) would be my predicition if I had money riding on it. But since I don't, I'm gonna have to go with my gut and say that we'll pull off an upset: 0-1 (Mido).

Strangely enough I'm not really worried about Liverpool scoring. I think Dawsome can deal with Crouch in the air and Ledley can more than keep up with Bellamy (or whoever else is paired with the lanky one).

Nearly right - they did beat us 1-0 with a kewell wonder goal but it was the home game (a 0-0) where raziak hit the bar. I seem to remember keane missing an open goal in the away game. but I could be wrong.

As for tomorrow's lineup I would like to see davids in for tainio - I like teemu but he has been very poor so far this season. I would also like to see huddlestone in for murphy. Up front I would actually go for the two little men - defoe and keane. my reasoning is that without any wingers we have not been providing any crosses for mido and as a result he has only had one chance in 3 games and has provided virtually no threat at all. I know people say that keane and defoe cannot play together but they have played well together at times - just not consistently.

Prediction: 0-2 spurs. our defence looks as good as I can ever remember it looking atm and since king came back we have only conceded 1 goal in 3 games (and that was a goalkeeping error). and whilst we have struggled offensively liverpool's defence looks very dodgy and I can see us exploiting that. however, I have not predicted us to lose a game yet this season so my optimism should be taken with a pinch of salt! :)

I try not to get too involved in postings prior to this fixture, but here are the results of the last 7 meetings:

0-0
2-1 Liverpool
1-1
1-1 Carling Cup, Liverpool advances on penalties
2-2
0-0
1-0 Liverpool

So it's been a pretty even fixture for a while...

I'm taking a real simple approach to this prediction:
Our defense is quite good, Liverpool's offense can be quite good.
Our offense has been quite bad, Liverpool's defense can be very bad.
Thus we have 1-1.
I'll be happy with one point at Anfield if we play decently. I'll be satisfied with one point if we play poorly and manage to steal the point.

Spurs looking a little second rate in the first 7 mins, they need to close down the passes to kuyt and bellamy or they will be paying for it very soon.
