I suspect that most of the UK based people on this forum watched Panorama last night, but for those that didn't it was a real eye opener. During the program, it was quoted that "18 Premiership managers" had been involved in taking bungs, or had been willing to take them. (Correct me if I worded it wrongly).
The question I pose is, who are the two managers who HAVEN'T been involved in bungs?
I would say...
Arsene Wenger (obviously)
and
David Moyes.
Thoughts?

I'd be amazed if that many actual managers were involved these days. scouts and coaches maybe.
As far as managers not being directly involved I'd also bet Fergie, Mourinho and Benitez aren't. Why would any of the top managers, who are all on vast salaries bother with a dodgey 100,000? The smaller guys who earn considerably less would welcome a payment of 20, 30, 50,000, which would be easier to hide than the sums that would make it worthwhile for a manager who is earning millions a year anyway...

I would agree with Ferguson and Benitez, but Mourinho I'm not too sure. Not that I'm throwing accusations about, it just wouldn't surprise me with all the money that's flying around him getting a cut. It happens under the noses of the FA and that tells you something - it is so easy to get away with it. Craig Allardyce getting the payments through another agent etc.
But I do agree with your point about most of the top managers not doing it. You did always look at some of the signings Bolton made and think "how the fcuk did they pull that off?" eg Campo when he first came, Djorkaeff when he first came etc. Now we all know!
On top of that, regardless of salary any sane man would not say no to £100,000 no questions asked. Apart from maybe Bill Gates or Red Rom.

Exactly!!! But he was willing to go to Pompey (no offence) so I'm pretty sure he just wanted to get out of Turkey with his head intact.

I'd imagine £100,000 might be getting towards the point where it's quite hard to hide, but lets go with that figure. If a manager's earning £2000,000 a year, which the top guys will easily beat, (£5mill is more like it) than it's equiv. to them is small small small. When their job and future career is on the line, a lot would stay very clear.
As for 2 managers, depends on your definition of certain, but Wenger, Ferguson, Benitez, Pardew, Mourinho...

Fair enough. I knew I was missing something, but I couldn't quite put my finger on what. Now, past and present managers.. *cough*

A manager taking a bung would have nothing to do with getting a good player. However, a lesser known player may be a reason for an agent to ''lubricate'' the deal by giving the manager cash

Football's original bung scandal (http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/5363340.stm)
One of Arsenal's most successful managers, George Graham was the first and only casualty of the bungs scandal which hit English football over a decade ago.
Graham insisted that he had received "unsolicited gifts" and not an illegal bung from Hauge.

BBC is guilty of entrapment (http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,277-2367667,00.html)
Ian Elliott, an agent based in the North East, met Panorama's undercover reporters during the filming of the controversial investigation into alleged football corruption. In conversation with The Times, Elliott - who counts Stewart Downing, Middlesbrough's England winger amongst his clients at Elliott Sports Management - details his unhappy experience at the hands of the BBC.
.
.
"He said: 'He's talking about offering you £1.2 million for your agency'. I thought, 'For those figures you have to go along and at least listen to what the guy has to say' .
.
.
"What first got me suspicious was that when we sat down he never asked me how many players I had, which players I represented, did I have any set of accounts that I could show him, which are all questions that any potential buyer would ask you if they were looking to buy your business. After about 15 to 20 minutes he then went outside to make a phone call. I would imagine he probably left some kind of recording device on the table.
.
.
"What happened to me I believe to be a form of entrapment. They approached me saying that they wanted to buy my company without having any intention of buying my company. I think Panorama should come out and say: 'We met Ian Elliott and we found nothing untoward.' They don't have to lick my boots.

Bolton in fresh transfer probe (http://home.skysports.com/list.aspx?hlid=418332&CPID=8&clid=30&lid=3&title=Bolton+in+fresh+transfer+probe)
While Gartside will have been hoping for a period of calm after the storm, a national newspaper has now revealed new evidence, which points to an unlicensed agent being paid in the deal to bring Tal Ben Haim to the club.
