I have to admit in the early going that I am a bit concerned with our left defensive flank...

And I wonder how serious a weakness we have on the left defense after selling Traore. Yes, he was inconsistent, but Warnock isn't going to hold up the whole season, Agger is a CB, and the Riise Aurelio/Zenden/Gonzalez option has shown some deficiencies so far...

So, what is the significance of this? Granted, it's early in the season, but is it a big problem, or something that will be worked out?

Alves? He is a right back.

We don't have a major problem at left back. Even if Traore was still at the club, he wouldn't be playing. That is not the problem. Aurelio is taking time to adjust, but I'm confident that he will come good. For now, Warnock can do the job, and when Riise comes back we will be fine.
