It seems to me that Claude Puel is looking to sign a new left-sided midfielder in January. Robail is bright but he's still much too young to be relied on, and of course Bastos has been terribly disappointing so far this season.

Reportedly Lille officials have shown an interest in Sedan's left full back Nadir Belhadj and tabled a €2m bid for his signature. He's a player who likes to go forward and the fact that Tafforeau is already in charge of the left-back station leads me to think he'll probably play as a winger at Lille.

Selon L'Equipe de lundi, un nouveau club s'est lancé dans la course au recrutement de Nadir Belhadj. Pas n'importe lequel puisqu'il s'agit de Lyon. Le latéral gauche algérien de Sedan, déjà courtisé par Lille, le PSV Eindhoven et l'Ajax Amsterdam, serait transféré puis prêté immédiatement à...Sedan.

This is a massive game not just in terms of rivalry, but in terms of direct competition for the 2nd place spot, Champions League berth and all that. Especially for Lille who can't afford to lose any more ground on their rivals taking 4-point deficit into this game.

After missing out on Nadir Belhadj, Lille are now in talks with L2 side Metz over the possible January transfer of Ludovic Obraniak.

They already offered some amount of cash plus two of their players (Gygax and Audel) to Metz and the negotiation between the two parties seems well advanced at the moment. As for the player, he has decided to join Lille and dropped out of Metz squad for the friendly against Louhans Cuiseaux as a precaution for an injury.

Meanwhile, Bastos was quoted saying "si les dirigeants font venir un autre joueur, ce n'est pas un problème".

Claude Puel has transformed an underachieving club into a force to be reckoned with in L1. The club is not quite there yet, but with its ambition and future grand stadium, who knows what it's capable of? :rolleyes:

They are pretty good now but they will always be in the shadow of Lens. They definately need to get more fans though. It is pathetic to look at them "at home" games.
