Hey Douai. If you could post any articles on the new stadium that would be much appreciated. Also drawings or renderings or whatever. Post everything you can find relating to the new stadium.

I cant read French. I assume the 55,000 means number of seats but I dont know what the 3000 means.

LOSC Stadium Information
According to the research I found, the club was planning on playing in a refurbished Stade Grimonprez-Jooris for their UEFA Champions League matches, but in June 16,2005 a French court cancelled planning permission to improve the stadium.Stade Grimonprez-Jooris is currently considered a standby assignment. In an article I read, the club president, Michel Seydoux, did say that he is considering building a new ground in Villeneuve d'Asq.Currently, LOSC is using Stadium Lille Métropole for their Ligue 1 matches, and Stade Félix Bollaert for the UEFA Champions League.
"The court ruled that the work would damage the environmental and historic heritage of the surrounding area, as the ground is situated in an urban park nearfortifications built in the 17th century. Grimonprez-Jooris stadium has been Lille's home since 1975. A club statement read: "LOSC take note of the appeal court decision made today. We believe now that the referee has whistled for the end of the game. We think there cannot be extra time, the renovation of the Grimonprez-Jooris stadium is over. This stadium will never again stage a professional football game."(Source: eufootball.biz).

A draw or win vs Milan gets you through to the next round, correct ?
Not quite. If Athens beat Anderlecht on the last matchday, it'll be all over for Lille...

Yes I already knew about the Stade Grimonprez-Jooris II project and that it was cancelled. Im interested in info for the new stadium project. Stade Grimonprez-Jooris II was gonna seat 33,000, the new stadium will be over 50,000 and thats the stadium I havent seen renderings of.

Well I dont really expect Athens to win 2 Champions League matches in a row ! They arent that good. A draw or an Anderlecht win is a very probably result.

The problem is that Lille need to get a result in Milan AND have a little help from the Belgians. Both conditions have to be met.
Hopefully Milan will go easy on them since they've already secured the top spot..

I hated them because they were in the Champions League and I said Id rather see some other teams in there instead of them. If they get this new stadium built I will respect them a lot more.

It's more than likely that Puel will give his first stringers a bit of a break. With all due respect to Nancy, this is not the game Lille should be thinking about right now. They've got a very, very big one ahead..
