I thought he had an awful world cup and was surprised to see Liverpool go for him.

He's looked better in the red of Liverpool...but no goals so far.

What are your general impressions of him in his few appearances to this point?

I absolutley love him already....he has a passion about his game and tremendous workrate....he was very unlucky not to have scored against Chelsea , West Ham and PSV.

He does combine well with the others and has a good footballing IQ...he senses other players runs very prominently and is willing to set up plays and not do the selfish thing and go on his own.

Judging him on his WC really isn't fair, so many quality players had poor outings and VB has a lot to sort out with his Dutch squad.

So despite not scoring, he's done great so far....everything else he's done was awesome.

He's establishing himself as quite the playmaker. Really was quite unlucky not to score. But i really like him so far and think he was a great addition.

Basically what's been said already.

Great at linking up with almost every player around him, hustles, works hard, and has been unlucky to not have gotten off the schnide. His goals will come, sooner rather than later.

I think he'll end up partnering better with Bellamy than with Crouch, but I'd like to see Crouchy and Dirk out there, b/c Crouch's form has been good, and Bellamy's has left something to be desired.

He's the striker I most want to see in our starting lineup these days, and I think it'll be that way for some time.

Of the four main strikers, Flower, Choruc, Kyut and Ellembay, I think Kyut shows the most pormise.

Well done.

I was glad to see Kite, Koit, Kaut, or whatever his name will be next week, finally score a goal. He has worked hard for us so far, but I am very concerned about our striker situation. Fowler is the only one who truly wants to hang out inside the box. The rest of them, even Crouch, prefer to drift out. We are basically playing with 6 midfielders. Rafa should have gone after a true poacher this off season (e.g., RVN, Klose, or Mista) or kept Cisse and let him play way up front (when/if he recovers). I have a feeling that at the end of the season we will be in the same boat that we were in last season: missing out on a title because our strikers couldn't score enough goals for us. But I hope I'm wrong. Take care.

You raise a good point there - why is standing in the box and tapping in goals such a lost art?

I'm a Boro fan (!) and I'm tired of seeing the likes of Viduka and Yakubu picking the ball up on the wing.

It's even worse when you realise we normally play one up front! Who do they think they're going to cross it in to?

Seems that it's pronounced "Kout", rhyming with "gout". Probably comforting news to Kewell...

"What do you reckon of Kyut so far?"

Talented and pasty.

Manchester United fans were moaning about RVN's "easy" goals and about his poaching style. IMO a goal is a goal, you don't get extra points for wonderful goals.

But Kuyt is definitely not a poacher like RVN and he never will be, he's a hard working striker, good character, modest, who sets up goals and helps out in midfield and defense if necessary.

Well Unfortunately for me I am a cable suscriber, and I haven't seen a SINGLE game this season!!!!! (Fox) I'm going through withdrawals, I have seen highlights though and I love that Kuyt appears to be fearless. I love his goal vs Toon. Anyone who plays with such reckless abandon and isn't afraid to risk injury I immediately admire. Glad he's a Red!
