from Anfield
Wednesday, 20 September
Kick-off: 2000 BST - noon PST, 3pm EST
Radio: centuryFM, I'd suspect.
TV: No FSC.
BBC Preview (http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_prem/5351794.stm)
Referee is Mark Halsey. He reffed last year's game at Anfield and dismissed Bowyer in a 2-0 Liverpool win.
Liverpool have not lost a League game to Newcastle in 12 matches, 10 wins and a pair of draws. They come off clean-sheet losses to Chelsea and Everton sandwiched around a 0-0 draw at PSV in Champions League matchday 1, so they haven't scored a goal in three games in any competition. They've also won five straight league games at home. Aside from John Arne Riise's foot they have no injuries to speak of, to my knowledge.
Added incentive for Bellamy to play well against his old mates, perhaps added incentive for us to show Kuyt that he made a mistake in choosing Liverpool over Newcastle.
For Newcastle, we're missing Owen and Given. Bernard, Bramble and Taylor are question-marks and Babayaro and Ameobi hopefully will rebound well on such a quick turnaround. Harper's play will be key, as will the defense. If Ramage and Moore can keep them organised at the back, we could have a chance at a draw or even a win. I think we'll have the same 10 outfield players as we did against West Ham to start as they controlled that game from the onset.
Both clubs are in the same sort of fixture congestion right now, but obviously Liverpool has superior depth and they're at home. I'd love to see Newcastle take the win to draw level with Villa and Reading but I'll be pleased as punch with a draw.
