Ditto with me and BvB...I just hate that they have "You'll never walk alone" in the stadium, that song is just absolute shit on my ears :D ;)

LOL!! :)

Honestly, I know about the "Borussia" rivalry, but despite all of that and my comments, I don't "hate" Borussia Moenchengladbach.

Could be my own words, Keith. ;) Both Borussias have a great tradition and good fans. Rivalry & a little teasing is ok, but there's no reason for hatred!

PS: I got the feeling that many Gladbach fans simply can't forget the Heiko Herrlich story...

Yeah. I know I've let the words slip, but I really don't "hate" BMG........

Understood. We were very "Bayern-like" at that time, but that's what it took to dethrone them........

Gladbach is the original Borussia period.
Let's see...

Older,
IIRC VfL like it exist today were only established in 1921.

more silverware
Eyyyy???

German league titles:
VfL: 5
BVB: 6

German cup titles:
VfL: 3
BVB: 2

EC3 titles:
VfL: 2
BVB: 0

EC2 titles:
VfL: 0
BVB: 1

EC1 titles:
VfL: 0
BVB: 1

World team cup titles:
VfL: 0
BVB: 1

Looks more or less even...but in 1997 we won the biggest title a club can achieve. We were just on top of the world, where only the 2 big German clubs have been - Bayern München and Borussia Dortmund.

I rank Dortmund 2nd only behind Bayern as my most disliked team!!!!!
I don't hate Gladbach. I am just not interested in your club.

BTW we hold the Bundesliga record on ya 12-0!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That was the last match day of the 77/78 season. Cologne and Gladbach were even on points but Cologne was leading the table by some goals only. Dortmund somehow agreed to help Gladbach and lost 12-0....unfortunately for you guys, Cologne also won impressively (5-0 IIRC) and became champions. ;-)

I don't hate Dortmund either it's just a rivalry to me and that makes me dislike them trust me I'll cheer for them when they play Bayern but that's it. But not that it really matters but we have 2 gold stars you guys have 1 ;)

Also to correct myself about the silverware I would say it is even!! but what I failed to mention was Post Bundesliga we have more

I'd heard there was some type of agreement and that because of it, some BVB players even refused to go into the match.

I just don't repeat it because I don't know if it's true or not.

Nobody will know for sure (expect the players of that time maybe). But looking at it from a stochastic point of view, it is highly unlikely that such an event takes places on the last match day with that constellation (Gladbach and Cologne even on points) in mind just by accident. Kudos to Gladbach as they hold the official record and as they beat us 12-0, but I myself have doubts whether that was achieved under sports aspects only.

I doubt it they just flatout got beat, I know it was a meaningless game but we have 4 of the top 6 all time beatdowns!!
