Chelsea and Liverpool are passing it sideways and boring me to tears. The comentator is going on about a clash of the Titans and big clubs. But who are the big clubs? Whats the criteria, coz it aint immediate or recent success. I offer the following list in the hope of promoting debate, argument, and possibly a fight. In order:

Arsenal: Dixie Dean, Frank McClintock, Charlie george, Thierry Henry

Man U: Busby babes, Best & Beckham

Liverpool: Shankly and his dexy's midnight runners, Keegan, Toshack and Gerrard

Spurs: The double in 61, Danny Blanchflower, Pat Jennings, Jimmy Greaves

Notts County: How are the mighty fallen

West Ham: The Academy, Malcolm Allison, Bobby Moore, Geoff Hurst, Dicks, virtualy the entire currant England team, 1966 and all that

Sheffield Utd: See Notts county

Newcastle: Wor Jackie (and his Charlton nephews) Shearer, Gasgoine and just about the best bunch of fans in the game

Leeds: Bremner, Revie (see Notts county)

Chelsea: Osgood, Bonetti (bsatard- I havent forgotten 1970)

I wanna say stoke for the sake of Gordon Banks, but they really dont qualify. Maybe even Everton, just for NOT being Liverpool, but I think thats it. Oh and the Old Corinthians, just because...

Oh Notts Forest: Clough and his babies, o'neill and maybe Keane

That's a new one on me! Do Everton know about it? Or Sligo Rovers maybe?
