I find this to be of interest, how much of this is true and isn't it a bit uncanny?
History mystery
Have a history teacher explain this----- if they can.
Abraham Lincoln was elected to Congress in 1846.
John F. Kennedy was elected to Congress in 1946.
Abraham Lincoln was elected President in 1860.
John F. Kennedy was elected President in 1960..
Both were particularly concerned with civil rights.
Both wives lost their children while living in the White House.
Both Presidents were shot on a Friday.
Both Presidents were shot in the head
Now it gets really weird.
Lincoln 's secretary was named Kennedy.
Kennedy's Secretary was named Lincoln.
Both were assassinated by Southerners.
Both were succeeded by Southerners named Johnson.
Andrew Johnson, who succeeded Lincoln, was born in 1808.
Lyndon Johnson, who succeeded Kennedy, was born in 1908..
John Wilkes Booth, who assassinated Lincoln, was born in 1839.
Lee Harvey Oswald, who assassinated Kennedy, was born in 1939.
Both assassins were known by their three names.
Both names are composed of fifteen letters.
Now hang on to your seat.
Lincoln was shot at the theater named 'Ford.'
Kennedy was shot in a car called ' Lincoln' made by 'Ford.'
Lincoln was shot in a theater and his assassin ran and hid in a warehouse.
Kennedy was shot from a warehouse and his assassin ran and hid in a theater.
Booth and Oswald were assassinated before their trials.
And here's the kicker...
A week before Lincoln was shot, he was in Monroe, Maryland
A week before Kennedy was shot, he was with Marilyn Monroe.

Pretty funny post.
You should read "Foucault's Pendulum" by Umberto Eco.

Haven't heard of that one.

I am reading about it now.
Still, I am curious about the similarities there in that quote. I am not saying it is a conspiracy, rather a note about how history repeats itself, although the names and such are a bit uncanny don't you think?

Wow good to see this. Oh and I have PENDULUM: Leon Foucault and the Triumph of Science by Amir D. Aczil. I heard a few of these from grapevine but not to exstent.
p.s. I haven't read it yet but plan on swinging it this weekend after that...

This was real popular in the late sixties, and I have forgotten just how many flaws there are in it, but some of it I can reconstruct:
Lincoln's actual secertary was not named Kennedy IIRC.
The "shot in the head" one is pretty pointless since Lincoln was shot once from inches away and Kennedy twice at a considerable distance...
Jackie O miscarried in the white house while the Lincoln child who died was well grown.
John Wilkes Booth was shot in a tobacco barn; it is more than a bit inexact to refer to it as "a warehouse." And Booth's death came under circumstances which could hardly be called an "assassination."
Kennedy was successful in Congress, Lincoln was not. Lincoln was shot in his second term, Kennedy in his first.
And of course drawing regional parallels between the Johnsons and between Booth and Oswald is stretching the limits pretty severely. In fact it would make more sense to say Presidents successors were very unpopular Presidents, and both of whom were heavy drinkers.
And I'd be a lot more impressed if Kennedy had been riding in a "Hayes" or Lincoln shot in the "Kennedy Theater"
Lee Harvey Oswald came to be known by his three names entirely as a consequence of the MSM's initial difficulty getting his name right when he was arrested-- I heard the actual first report and the newscaster with much hesitation referred to him as "Oswald Harvey Lee". Then part way into the story of his arrest annouced he'd been corrected, the name was "Harvey Lee Oswald," then finally corrected himself to the real name. The man was known as "Lee" to his acquaintances and friends (if any) on Nov 21st 1963.
Now if you really want something weird-- John Wilkes Booth broke his leg in the process of assassinating President Lincoln. Many years later his brother Edwin -- a truly famous actor-- broke his arm while defending President Grant from a would-be assassin...

Thank you, that is what I was looking for, someone who has seen this before and could de-bunk it.

Abe Lincoln was born in a back woods log cabin. JFK once spilt Log Cabin syrup in the backseat of his father's Lincoln.

It's been a long time since I read the book, but my take was that it was an exercise in taking various associations and linking them together to create some apparent, but non-existent meaning.
Oh, and don't forget. Lincoln was born in a log cabin he built with his own hands. At least that's what I've heard.

I can't begin to imagine what this means. Is there some slur on Old Abe in there?

Wasn't Marilyn Monroe assassinated in Monroe, Maryland by a Kennedy?

I can't begin to imagine what this means. Is there some slur on Old Abe in there? No, something much more dangerous to his backers-an accurate historical depiction of his views. Fortunately for you, no imagination at all is required.

The logs he built the cabin with were actually from the cherry tree that George Washington chopped down when he was a lad.

You're going to have to wait a long time. Every person who ever voted for Lincoln in any election is dead.
