Upton Park
Sunday, 17 September
Kick-off: 1500 BST, 1000 EST, 0700 PST and 0600 in Nome, Alaska.
Radio: CenturyFM, I'm presuming.
TV: FSC will air the game on Monday at 3 pm EST.
BBC News and Notes (http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_prem/5330082.stm)
Referee: Rob Styles.
He's got the co-highest average number of total cards issued per game with 5.5. Of course, he dealt out seven yellows and a red in the Boro/Arsenal game last weekend.
Looks like we'll have Owen and Solano out for sure. Bramble is likely out, and Babayaro and Bernard have to prove their fitness, as does Taylor.
West Ham haven't won in four matches, while we've got nothing at all from our last two domestic fixtures.

I would expect them to play. they started last week against Palermo and did nowt.
in other news: (http://icnewcastle.icnetwork.co.uk/newcastleunited/chroniclesport/tm_objectid=17759479%26method=full%26siteid=50081%26headline=roeder%2d%2di%2dtried%2dto%2dget%2dtevez-name_page.html)
" the good news is that while Olivier Bernard is still a couple of weeks away from being match fit, Celestine Babayaro is ready to return at left-back after being out since he damaged his hamstring at Aston Villa."
um...
But I'll say 1-0 Toon, recording our first away win and backing Roeder in his return to Upton Park

Last year's results (http://www.sportinglife.com/football/premiership/newcastle/reports/newcastle_2005.html) vs West Ham ...
Aug 20 at SJP - Newcastle 0 West Ham 0 (http://www.sportinglife.com/football/premiership/newcastle/reports/story_get.cgi?STORY_NAME=soccer/05/08/20/SOCCER_Newcastle.html&TEAMHD=newcastle&DIV=prem&TEAM=NEWCASTLE--UNITED&RH=Newcastle--United&PREV_SEASON=2004)
Newcastle: Given, Carr, Taylor, Boumsong, Babayaro, Jenas, Parker, Bowyer, N'Zogbia (Clark 63), Milner, Shearer
West Ham: Carroll, Repka, Ferdinand, Gabbidon, Konchesky, Benayoun (Dailly 78), Mullins, Reo-Coker, Etherington, Harewood (Zamora 90), Sheringham (Newton 48).
"Toothless Newcastle let 10-man West Ham off the hook after defender Paul Konchesky was controversially sent off. The Magpies could not make their numerical advantage count and they were booed from the pitch as manager Graeme Souness' problems deepened."
Dec 17 at UP - West Ham 2 Newcastle 4 (http://www.sportinglife.com/football/premiership/newcastle/reports/story_get.cgi?STORY_NAME=soccer/05/12/17/SOCCER_West_Ham.html&TEAMHD=newcastle&DIV=prem&TEAM=NEWCASTLE--UNITED&RH=Newcastle--United&PREV_SEASON=2004) :D
Newcastle: Given, Ramage, Boumsong, Bramble, Elliott, Solano (Bowyer 79), Faye, Parker, Ameobi, Shearer, Owen.
West Ham: Carroll, Repka (Aliadiere 76), Ferdinand, Collins, Konchesky, Benayoun (Bellion 62), Fletcher, Mullins, Etherington, Harewood, Zamora
"England striker Michael Owen scored a superb hat-trick to give Graeme Souness something to celebrate in his 50th Premiership game in charge of Newcastle.
The home side briefly threatened to make a game of it when they levelled the scores in the 19th minute thanks to an own goal from Nolberto Solano. Titus Bramble, attempting to clear Marlon Harewood's right-wing cross into the six-yard box, succeeded only in finding Solano's shins and the ball rebounded into the net.
But Owen, ably abetted by warhorse Shearer, undid the Hammers again two minutes before the interval.
This time Solano was the provider though, making amends for his own goal blunder by supplying a perfect free-kick into the penalty area for Owen to deftly head beyond the flat-footed Carroll."

End to end stuff, both offences threatening and both defences looking suspect.
Bowyer just misses from long range with Given caught out.

******** You Marlon Harewood. 12 Studs in Given's chest. Stretchered off and the announcers are making it out to be broken ribs.
Lucky he's not sent off, but if he didn't send off Parker with a second yellow, I guess he can't send off that donkey.
Thx,
Jay!
