View Full Version : Spurs v Fulham[R] - 17Sept

only three days ...
fulham coming off an impressive late victory at newcastle last saturday. last year's road woes a thing of the past, perhaps?
spurs coming off a solid road result in europe, and a very respectable league performance at old trafford last weekend. decent form, but that's alot of football over the last eight days. other than the back four, however, few have put in a vast majority of that 180 minutes, so it's not dire. lennon out, and berbatov a question mark.
was thinking 2-0, but all those minutes from our defenders make me less confident of a clean sheet, and the lack of width without lennon could make goals a bit harder to come by.
what the hell ... 2-0 spurs. keane will get (at least) one.

I think Martin and the coaching staff would have told the players in the changing room before last night's game that their season starts now.
Expect us to come out very strong against Fulham and win 2-0.
Huddlestone may be a doubt after injuring his knee. That's a shame, as I felt that if he played a few games, he would cement his place in the team.

can't see anything other than a spurs win in this one - fulham are without bullard and routledge and our defence has looked excellent since ledley returned. i really hope berbatov plays - he should be fresh whilst defoe and mido had a tough time last night.
So, if berby starts - 4-0 spurs
If not - 2-0 spurs.
I expect keano to have a blinder too.

I feel/hope that we'll play the following line-up. Although as we have such a large squad, I wouldn't blame Martin for shifting the players around a bit.

We could play this line-up and still get a result though:

Either way, this is a must win.

I feel like Jol wil start Davids instead of the Incredible Hud for this one. And maybe Ghaly for Tainio. Keane and Berby to start up front.
I also smell victory here. I don't think I've predicted a win yet this season, but I'm going to say 1-0 to the lillywhites.

He'll hardly make any changes, wouldn't suprise me if it was the same side that won in the Uefa cup, we've got to push on and start to pick up are league form now, it's a home game so a good chance to do so. As ever i'll be shitting myself. :(

I do think Davids will be in for Huddlestone, he had a huge ice pack put on his knee when he went off, that was probably just a precaution though.

Keane over Defoe to start and partner up with Mido or Berbatov -- Berb to come in as a sub would be my guess. I hope Huddlestone gets the nod with Davids coming in as super sub...

It would make sense for Steed to play in this match - as a former Fulham player.

I think we can and should win this one. Fulham's form, our injuries, our lack of chemistry, etc., but at the end of the day we simply have more talent, and if we lose this one, it'll be very depressing.
I thought I read somewhere that Ghaly would miss this one.
If Berbatov plays I'd expect him to start, that way any problems and Jol could sub him out for Mido.
My lineup guess would be:
-----------------------------------------Mido-------------------------
------------------------Keane-----------------------------------------
----------------Davids--------------------Tainio-------------Jenas----
----------------------------------Zokora------------------------------
Ekotto----------------King-----------------Dawson----------Chimbonda
-------------------------------Robinson-------------------------------

Same lineup I'd choose, as well. Berbatov subbing in for Mido.
Also, is this yet another game I'm not going to catch on FSC? I'm getting really aggrivated.

Well the rumours are that Murphy will start in place of Huddlestone, Defoe keeps his place and Berbatov is not going to play.
I assume Zokora in front of the back 4 and Murphy behind the front 2, in a midfield diamond.
I'd be happy with this for a home game, especially with Fulham having a lot of midfield players out. Murphy also has a lot of the qualities we've been lacking, the midfield creativity, can score goals and takes decent set pieces as well.
