Chivas need to win this game. They let two points slide away from them at Queretaro so they need to get it in gear. Pumas is starting to find their legs, but they still arent very good. As always, i feel the Chivas can win this game, especially if they can repeat the performance they had against Necaxa. Im assuming this game will be on Sunday around 12 central time on Univision like all Pumas games appear to be. Them and Toluca always seem to be in that spot.

I think Chivas will get three points, for a variety of reasons, and Pumas are actually a good team now, to be fair..
Also it is is Jalisco, and so not at midday Sunday, but 7pm Saturday, hey, thats tomorrow, cool.... not sure about TV listings, though...

Since 1982. If Chivas doesn't lose and depending if they meet in the playoffs it will be 25 year unbeaten streak.

Tuca's gonna play a very conservative game. Chivas will be wide open and we'll counterattack.

Pumas comes to the game motivated by their two game winning streak. They will have a defensive approach and wait to score on a counterattack. Our team must answer with their best football and finish every goal opportunity. I hope to see a very good game and our Chivas lifting up their arms in victory. My lineup:
----------------------Oswaldo------------------------
----------Maza-------Reynoso--------Magallon--------
-Diego---------------------------------------Moncho-
---------------Sol---------------Pineda---------------
------------------------Bofo--------------------------
----------Venado---------------------Bravo-----------

Sadly, this match was the worst performance of Guadalajara in the tournament. Chivas did not generate many goal opportunities, some players were not focused, very little intensity, and good football was absent.
Pumas went in their bomb shelter and never came out until the final whistle was blown. UNAM deflated some of the poorly constructed advances that our team made. Our opponents placed eight players on defense to neutralize whatever offensive game Chivas would make. Some of our players abused in sending too many long balls that were inconsequential. True, UNAM's posture was ugly and repulsive but effective. Their purpose was to get a tie and they got it. Tuca Ferretti won the duel against Chepo. Pumas are happy.
Alberto Medina converted a legitimate goal but was invalidated by one of the lineman (Bravo was not on offsides). There are a few positives and negatives that I gleaned from this match. On every game, our foes speculate that Maza may commit a few errors that will help them. To their disappointment, Maza has been almost flawless in this tournament. Magallon and Reynoso are also playing very well. Diego had a good game. Santana did not play well. Bofo, Medina, and Bravo did not play to their full potential. I noticed that Araujo is Chepo's unmovable defensive midfielder. Chato's game was horrible. I do not want him in our first team. I do not understand Chepo's fixation on this player. I was glad to see Avila, but he was not on form in this game. Pineda should not be on the bench. I would place el Moncho as an offensive midfielder and place Pineda on his natural position of defender on the left flank.
I am optimistic Chivistas. I am hopeful that many victories will come very soon.

Same as Atlas and Cruz Azul; actually, I'm noticing a lot of teams go balls-out for the first 15, maybe 20 minutes and when they don't score a goal, they tone it down.
Anyway, I was hugely disappointed by this result. Yes, Pumas was flying high, but it's still Pumas and we're still Chivas--we should have won.
What I'm liking is that we're taking more chances from outside the box; long-distance shooting is worth taking if the opposite team has 10 defenders. Sure, they may be wide, but all you need is one (or two) to go in and you're golden.
Maza was actually pretty good; I'd missed the last few games but today he didn't screw up. So hopefully this begins a new age for our lanky defender. Our defense, in general, was good--Pumas didn't have many chances on goal, whereas we had a few more here and there. Oswaldo was basically watching the game for 80 minutes.
Unfortunately, so were Bofo and Bravo. I didn't see much action out of them because Pumas decided to crowd their goal with people, leaving no room for attack. Omar was basically stuffed and Bofo had no way of feeding him the ball.
All in all, it seems it's the same story--Guadalajara plays the better game and yet we don't win. That just pisses me off more than anything else. But, like DelChiverio, I have hope...

This was a boring game. The goal should have stood, but you win some calls and you lose some. So yet again Chivas end up with a tie and two points less than they should have. Right now, i dont think Chivas will make it to the playoffs the way they have been playing. Matches that only bring one point wont do enough to get them in.

Nothing against Santana, I like his work ethic, but I think he has to go to the bench again. I think that when Bofo and Bravo are both in the game, Santana seems to get either lost or in the way. I'd probably bring Pineda back in.
Watching Bofo reminds me of watching Maradona in his later years. He won't help out much, but he's in there for the one or two brilliant passes he'll make to the open man for a goal. I know, completely different levels of play, but the pass to Caniggia to beat Brazil in 1990 comes to mind.

Last night was painful to watch, well more like life-draining. watching one team attack and not gain a thing and the other team attack and be afraid of the net (seriously, what was wrong wit pumas?) i knew what kind of game it was going to be. yes the goal was valid but this kind of thing happens all the time and well i can't say i was surprised. everyone knew pumas was gonna play us luck that, congrats to them on a job almost done to perfection, all they needed was to get someone to shoot at the target... so the streak continues, chivas plays well and ties, pumas plays who cares how and still cant get a W in el jalisco, and didnt even look like they were interested in one.
and another thing, el chato, dont want to beat a dead horse or use any other lame cliche, but wtf is up with this guy??? whenever we have a goal opportunity and its his shot, i expect him to kick it way off or something of that manner. man when is he gonna make one or do something to make his salary look like it is earned? but idk, cant pick on him cuz well no one was outstanding last night...

I've noticed the games with Bofo in the starting lineup have been slower paced.
Hate to pick on him cuz he's giving us some good memories but I think he no longer fits into our system of high-paced attacking footie.
Although, I can't really blame the players though if the coach isn't using them properly. I'd really like to hear a detailed review by Chepo of our games.
