How about:

Carson
Young - El K - Faye - Ashton
Kishishev
Rommedahl - Pouso - Ambrose
JFH - D. Bent

Subs: Myhre, Youga, Holland, Hughes, M. Bent

Youga on for Ashton after the half. M. Bent on for Rommedahl late.

Addicks 2 - 1 Portsmouth

Go Addicks!

I am thinking, after doing some reading, that maybe Youga will get the run out at left back -- with Ashton on the bench for backup.

I don't think Dowie will want to use both his stronger dmids -- Faye and Kishishev -- on the back line.

I most certainly think Pouso will start. He must. Holland has proved too weak either as a dmid or going forward. He wants to play defense but not make the tackles. Also, Hughes is at best a squad player who has his moments as a sub or in early round Cup matches.

Unfortunately, I will again be unable to listen to the whole match -- probably all. My son is in his first tournament this weekend. It's group play, I guess. His team will play three matches over the weekend. The first is 7:30 am CST on Saturday. The seond for the day isn't until 6 pm, but we have "things" to do in between.

So, I look forward to reading the results of a spirited victory at the Valley.

Go Addicks!

Well, glad I didn't have the chance to listen.

By the way, my son's team was pretty much "creamed" in their tournament. It was group play, so we played three games over two days.

Did I mention my son should be playing U11, but is on a U12 team that is playing up a division at U13? Long story of which the short of it is, we moved up to keep the team together at 11 v. 11 rather than play smaller sides.

This fall and spring will be quite a "learning" experience. The U13 boys are at least a head taller than all ours. They are also bigger, stronger, faster. So, we are concentrately on trying to get our boys to play well, etc.

Charlton's position in the table compares in no way to the season my son's Panthers are going through.

Go Addicks! Go Panthers!

So I was visiting from the US and managed to make it out to this game. I couldn't for the life of me figure out one of the very simple chants going on that both sets of supporters were saying and I've heard the same chants on tv during different team matches as well. It sounds something like "go away" just repeated over and over. I doubt that is what is was being said.....so, someone enlighten me to what was being said.

blue army and red army is what you were probably hearing

blue-ar-may
red-ar-may

coaches name +team colors+ army is another universal one..

they are a bit hard to understand.. i thought the addicks supporters were yelling "charl-ton" instead of red army the first time i was there.
