Well DC comes to town at 51 points (14-3-9) but having won only once in the last 5 games (1-1-3). United tied us here at Gillette earlier this year, and beat us at RFK 1-0.
For the Revs (8-8-10) this is yet another extremely important game. For a couple of reasons. One they're still fighting for a playoff spot, secondly you need to protect your home turf and third, it would be nice to prove to themselves that they can beat DC this year.
I wonder if Abundis will be signed by this game, with Noonan being most likely being out.

I would guess Simms will be starting up top with Twellman:
-----------------Reis
Heaps---------Parkhurst----------Riley
----------------Joseph
---Ralston------Dorman------Lawrentowicz
----------------Cancela?
-----------Sims------------Twellman
I would be suprised if Abundis is even playing/signed on the 20th

D.C. United gp-26 w-14 l-3 t-9 p-51 gf-44 ga-27 +/-17
they have more goals than anyone and the lowest ga in the league.
even scarier, look at it home and away and away- they still have the most gf and lowest ga in the league:eek:
with our anemic offense I don't know how we can push offensively and still protect our net. it will be interesting (to put it mildly)
imo, this would be the perfect game to go back to a 4-4-2

I thought Avery played well, better than Riley has been in his last few games. He deserves to start.
This is who I would start...
-----------------Reis
Heaps---------Parkhurst----------John
----------------Joseph
---Ralston------Dempsey------Dorman
----------------Cancela
-----------Sims------------Twellman
...but this is the lineup we will probably see:
-----------------Reis
Heaps---------Parkhurst----------Riley
----------------Joseph
---Ralston------Lawrentowicz------Franchino
----------------Dorman
-----------Dempsey------------Twellman

Is Dempsey out? By out I mean not eligible to play? Because I know he has been sort of "out of it" since MLS refused the offer.

Is there a specific reason we were treated to A. John, instead of Riley on Saturday? I mean A. John is awful at getting the ball to his own team, but he is good defensively, that man does not get pushed over easily.

instead of "we love new england, we do"...
"we love concussions, we do"
or just chant something like "he wears headgear because he has no need for a cup"

apparantly Nicol wanted a tough defender that doesnt get shaky anytime someone comes near him...interesting concept
it's as though Avery John has always been a good defender but we just haven't played him

Sims did not make the bench against NJ, so I assume he will not be ready to start for DC on wednesday. Hopefully he is healthy enough for the bench.
We are now 4-0-0 with Avery John starting and 4-8-10 without him. Thus, John will probably sit.
Dempsey's speed up front opened up space for us last game and with Sims likely not ready yet we need Dempsey up top. Other then Noonan's goal all our dangerous looking attacks appeared to start with either Dempsey or Smith making a fast run to start the attack. Lets keep some of that speed going.
What we will probably see:
-----------------Reis
---Heaps------Parkhurst-----Riley
-------Lawrentowicz--Joseph
Ralston----------------------Franchino (C)

---------Dempsey----Twellman

He needs surgery to remove some build-up in his knee ( I am trying to remember what I read) and will be out 2-4 more weeks.
