Revs need to finish at the finish (http://www.boston.com/sports/soccer/articles/2006/09/11/revolution_need_to_finish_at_the_finish/), FDA, Globe.

It's funny, people keep talking about how this team has finished strong the past few years ... and while it's true for two of the last four years, the statement just isn't factual in it's entirety.

The team has made a habit of sprinting to the regular-season finish line since the 2002 season, compiling records of 5-0-1, 5-0-1, 3-3-0, and 2-2-2 in the final six games of the last four seasons .

If we duplicate the finishes of the last 2 years we would be 11-11-10 (43 points) or 10-10-12 (42). Not exactly reasons to pop open the champagne. No one who is a fan of this team can be happy with a record like that, given what we all (rightfully) expected at the start of the season.

Finishing behind the Chicago Fire (a team whose fans have wanted to sack their own coach all year) is not my idea of a "successful" season.

On the other hand, if we repeated 2002 or 2003, we'd be 16-11-11 for 59 points--that's more like it!

And its very much possible. It could happen, if the Revs can manage more then one goal a game.

Something they've not done in over two months ...

And let's not forget they're playing DC twice still. I can almost guarantee we don't win out the remainder of the regular season sadly.

DC is slumping. Plus I will be at the game at RFK. I won't let them lose.
