Damn internationals two weeks into the season- Disruptive & tiring, especially to teams with key international players like Liverpool.
I've mucked around a bit with the team considering we do have the midweek game, and have gone cautious up front, with pace to come on later in the game.......

Maybe a poll on what lineup Rafa will go with. You can be pretty sure it wont be what the 'hose' will expect....or us for that matter.
Just so it's the right one.

I'll take a dodgy stodgy 1-0 win, after the disappointment of last weekend, I couldn't stand, another loss......... :(

One game at a time, I know, but remember we have the Maggies mid-week and Spurs a week on Saturday.
I expect pretty much the same defence as last night, though Benitez may be tempted to bring in Hyypia for one of Agger or Carragher with the N'castle in mind. Warnock is very much a consitency player-- he gets better the more he plays and last night there were encouraging signs of some sharpness coming back as the game progressed. I still cringe at some of his headed clearances  But am still scratching my head about Aurelio's. A midfield of Alonso, Gerrard, Gonzalez and Sissoko will do for me. Crouch (it's away in the Premiership, after all) and Bellamy completing the team by linking up front. I know the bookies will not give you any odds on a Liverpool starting line-up these day but it's getting to be fun predicting one anyway.
Result? Also depends on what Mourinho does. If he plays at least speedy winger and Drogba, it will be similar to last season's expect I'd hoping we score from the numerous chances we create. If he plays the same line-up as last night, we may win it.

Oh dear, Mike Riley will "officiate". That's all we need.

I will miss JAR for this fixture but Warnock should be better defensively.
I am not a big fan of Garcia but he's a big gamer so I cant leave him out. I have a feeling Crouch will start with his form for England and the fact that he was completely rested against PSV taking into account.
Joe Cole just recovered from an injury with Robben still out so they will utilize center of the pitch more than anything with their Trio of Lamp, Ballack, Essien.
Momo will be important for us but he has yet to let me down. His touches and passes have become better this year and I long for a day when he finally scores one. :)

Would be great to have Riise for this...he has a habit of scoring against Chelski but so does Garcia, he should start and be substituted for Gonzales later or vice versa.
The backline should of course be Finnan-Carra-Sami-Warnock. Wouldn't mind seeing Agger in there instead of Sami...he's progressing very well and this would be terrific experience for him.
We should be good with Momo, Xabi and Stevie in midfield.
On top I would love to see Kuyt start again alongside Crouch or Bellamy.
I feel good about this fixture although it'll be tough as nails. Depending on what Mourinho goes for we could tactically outplay them. If he packs his midfield with the usual four CM we could exploit them on the wings and thats why Stevie and Gonzalez/Garcia would work well...pace baby!

I predict a 2-0 loss. The jump in overall performance would have to be huge for us to get anything out of this match.

"Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O YE OF LITTLE FAITH? Therefore take no thought, saying What shall we eat? Or, What shall we drink? Or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek): for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof. "

I don't care what the score is as long as we bring it bell-to-bell.
I'll be disappointed [bu tnot surprised] if we sit on our hands and play this as any other "road fixture".
