Soca Warriors line up friendlies against Panama, Canada



PORT-OF-SPAIN, Trinidad (AP) - Trinidad and Tobago, after cancelling friendlies against Mexico and Colombia scheduled for this month, lined up home matches against Panama and Canada next month.

The Soca Warriors will play Panama on Oct. 7 and Canada on Oct. 11 at Hasely Crawford Stadium in preparation for the CONCACAF Gold Cup in the United States in 2007.

Wow, good stuff. If the friendly in Europe against Hungary works out, we would have already played 4 friendlies.

It's great the CSA are lining up games.

This is good news, we're playing in Jamaica anyways so why not make a pit stop at T&T as well!? Now whoever gets called up is virtually guaranteed playing time in either game, especially the goalies who can split the games. Good news all around.

Yes the two goalies will split games which means jpg75's previous claim that Kenny would not play in net in any of the up coming friendlies for Canada will be proven right, just like her claim that Lars would play in any of them is already proven wrong. :D

I would be trying to grasp for straws and putting up stupid pictures to if I was proven wrong on everything I said a month ago. You said I was stupid to suggest Kenny playing for Canada anytime soon, and that even Waagenar was over him. Well you were wrong, Kenny is playing 1 of the upcoming friendlies as they are splitting goalies. You also were wrong on Lars playing in any of the upcoming friendlies. So you were wrong on everything you said, as I expected.

Atleast I end up right on things I say will happen, I dont end up being proven wrong on anything like the lesser intellects.

Stop putting words in my mouth troll. I never called you stupid, i only mock you for being so closed minded and obsessed with Lars. I suggested it was a good idea to play Lars and Sutton, because they're both better than Kenny which is backed up by what Jonny63 the Norwegian supporter says. Let's wait and see who gets the calls for the upcoming games before making grand claims there stalker boy.

Stamatopolous was only called up because Yallop liked the chemistry between he and Sutton. He is in piss poor form currently for the worst club in Norways top flight and has since lost his starting spot. I have no idea why he was called up for international duty after the Spain game, i thought he was awful for most of the second half and was bailed out by poor Spanish finishing on a number of occassions. He bobbled the ball numerous times and the second Spain goal was a direct result of one of those bobbles.

I'll concede, he(Stamatopolous) had a decent game in Austria. But yeah, right now i'd say he doesn't warrant a call up.

Seriously though, quit with the Stamatopolous rah-rah, Tromso went out of their way to purchase a replacement for him a few weeks ago. At this point, if Wagenaar does win the starting spot at ADO he has to be considered ahead of Stama.

Because his lack of selection since the WCQ's had nothing to do with his talent and everything to do with an apparent rift with Yallop. Lars is considered the top keeper in Norway, only Sutton is in the same class at this point. Kenny S. is not even in the same league as Lars (figuratively)


As evidenced since you were clearly mistaken in all of these prior statements, just as I sensed all along. Also with Stamatopolous starting 2 of the last 4 games(including his game coming up in October)the CSA clearly is interested in him not just because he is somebody content to backup Sutton, he clearly is one of the top 2 goalkeepers on their pecking order, who is fighting for the starting job, something that has been clear to me for a long time now. Also Yallop is no longer around, so any argument centering around him is moot, the same 2 are the goalkeeper for all 3 friendlies since as I expected would be. Obviously any of the goalkeeping selections had nothing to do with him imparticular.

I think i'm going to start a new poll "Why does Cuddles have a boner for Kenny Stamatopolous?" :D

How would stating Statamopolous and Sutton are the top two goalkeepers and have been fighting for #1 for well over a year now show any partiality to Statamopolous. The facts are all there. Including the 2 friendlies coming up in October Sutton has started 2 of the last 4, and Statamopolous 2 of the last 4, they have been the two called to each. Hirschfeld, or anyone else not being called due to Yallop has been proven incorrect, as the status quo has remained now with Yallop gone. Hirschfeld has not played a game for Canada in 18 months, Waagenar never has, Fernandes(although not really eligable for now)never has. So those are the only two options the CSA even considers obviously.

The perception of either Hirschfeld or Waagenar, or anyone else, being in the mix is just due to the cluelessness of certain individuals. I actually see what is going on and enjoy seeing myself be right and everybody be wrong repeatedly.

Cuddles if you are really a fan of Lars as you claim, would it not be better to be wrong and see him playing for Canada rather be right and having to watch lesser keepers play for us? Or is gloating on this board more important to you than the national soccer team?
