Prenn, you have to admit, Bolton were caught out at every level, the boardroom, the manager, the managers son, the system of payments from the club, the agents associated with the clubs. They were prolly the easiest target with the biggest trails leading back to them.

I've not seen it yet, Telewest replay is down however from what I've gathered it's all hearsay. There is no evidence.

Should be fun to see how this unfolds...

There is the matter of Gartside lying in the press about an illegal approach being made for Okocha behind his back when he was clearly discussing a possible fee with the agent.

Too bad this story didn't come out before the World Cup.

It would of been an England - Italy final :)

Yes, but lying in the press isn't a crime or a violation as far as I know. Unless you really think Wenger hasn't seen any of his players' red cards? ;)

No, they were discussing a fee until the 'journalist' stated that they'd already made contact with Okocha, this is what Gartside was complainign about.

Then why did he say at the time that they were investigating the possibility of an illegal approach when he knew for definite that one had taken place? And why did he say that there is "no way we would want him to leave" when he named his price at the previous meeting?
If he were chairman at my club I would just be concerned that he was blatantly misleading fans as to the events.

Investigating how, where and who I presume. The usual things done in an investigation.

Unbelievable self righeousness, are you going to have a go at someone for doing 31mph in a 30 zone now?

Ever since the dawn of transfers managers and chairmen have publicly said players aren't for sale and do you know why? It's because a player who's not for sale is worth more than one that is. Okocha had less than a year left on his contract and in the interview Gartside said that he didn't want to sell him but everyone has their price. 5 million euro's was way beyond Okocha's market price and would have been a good bit of business if it had been true. Of course I'm sure you'd be happy if the chairman of your club stated your star player wasn't for sale then turned down a £10 million offer from Chelsea. I imagine you'd get a great view of it what with you sitting on your high horse.

If you want a further examples of this complete an utter non issue (which you have been blisfully unaware of it seems) then wait til we get closer to the transfer window. You'll see plenty of teams say that a player is not for sale only for him to depart in the window. It's pure economics.

Your pathetic Prenn

On what basis? That the reputation of my club and my clubs manager is being dragged through the mud because of conjecture and hearsay? I suppose I should just sit here and allow people to make allegations without any evidence?

Have you even seen the programme?

Yep, I've totally defended Craig Allardyce haven't I?

I think you'll find that legal evidence is the only kind that matters. Rumours and gossip ceased to be a good way of proving guilt several hundred years ago. If it hadn't we'd still be burning witches although this is the closest we get to a witchhunt these days.

thats unneccessary and you know it...I have been following English football since a few years after I was born....( 1948 ) and was a regular at Old trafford from about 1955 (went to every home game with my dad and grandad )....I go to several EPL games every time I go to England and have been to White Hart Lane, Old Trafford, Anfield and Goodison Park in the last three years...IMO there is a serious bung culture in England....and it's unfortunate that it has hit Bolton...but if the shoe fits, wear the fcuking thing.
