Addicks Interested in Clint Dempsey

Some people prefer to go further abroad to get their kicks, and Iain Dowie will give Charlton a much-needed injection of "Hell Yeah!" if he can convince American international Clint Dempsey that Old England is better than New England.


I certainly would like to see Clint wearing Addicks red. But what other teams are courting him? Would he want to go to a BIG club or to one on which he can actually get playing time?

Can you see him and Faye in the middle? I know he often plays out wide, but he also plays some in the middle -- that's where I would put him.

This story continues. I certainly hope there is something to it as far as the Addicks interest and ability to acquire is concerned. It is clear Dempsey wants to go to Europe. And I think the English game is one of the best places for him.

For me personally, this would be fantastic. For one, a rising American talent playing for my English club. And second, my KC Wizards wouldn't have to play against him anymore. Yippee!

Too bad we couldn't get him right now. We could use someone healthy and fit.

I think Dempsey could be a very effective O-Mid. Is there anouone in the current squad who should be there? Also, in MLS he seems to play quite a bit on the wing also (or at least ends up out there). Don't think the Addicks need another winger.

I'm trying to figure out if he is a better answer than anyone they already have.

If they buy dempsey I'd imagine they'd sell Rommedahl to that russian team to make room, if that rumor did in fact exist.

Dempsey is saying that he received an offer. Should he even consider going to a club that has a real chance of being regulated??
