Let's pretend for an instant that Atlanta will not be able to generate it's own investors, and instead a foreign brand decides to invest in our market (like Chivas Guadalahara). Which foreign brand, meaning colors, crests, and everything, would you like to see in Atlanta?
My top 3 would be:
Club America- Mexico
Celtic- Scotland
Man U- England (Owner lives in FL so it would be a good 2nd choice for him after a Florida team)

I am devotely against foreign ownership in our league if at all possible. But I'd give up most of my ideals for a team.

At one time Ajax was looking at buying the San Jose Earthquakes. Maybe they could be courted?
i think it would be most important to court a) clubs which have previously expressed a prior interest in purchasing an MLS club: Club America, Ajax, Chelsea. and b) clubs with a lot of disposable capital looking to crack into the American market: Manchester United, Arsenal, Celtic, Chelsea...

Errr i believe that would be bending the FIFA rules about owning multiple clubs no?
As far as Foreign ownership goes, dont care a $ is a $ and if he / she / they have a passion for the game, then thats what you need rather than an American passport.
But in the make believe situation, i could never support a team thats associated with Manure, same with the Arse, Chelski and the Whining Scum. :D

Why would you guys have to look overseas? I'm sure you could work out a deal with Goody's Headache Powers, kind of like New Jersey's deal with Red Bull. Maybe we could call the team the Snorts?

If the sale of West Ham goes through then old Terry Brown should have plently of spare cash floating around, and to his credit does seem to have learned from previous mistakes :D

I remember hearing a few months ago that Barcelona wanted to invest into the league.
I can see it now... After defeating Futbol Club de Dallas, Barcelona Atlanta will play Real Salt Lake, and the winner will face who comes out of the Chivas USA and Toronto FC match for the final.

Don't know if you heard this, but the owner of the Cleveland Browns has just bought Villa. Foreign ownership wouldn't be so bad, but I wouldn't want the team to become a farm team for the foreign club, if there was one. Also, I wouldn't want it to be just some rich guy's toy to play with, just so he can say he owns an American soccer franchise. One person I wouldn't mind though, would be the head of IKEA. He's one of the richest people in the world, and we might get an interesting looking stadium out of it :D.

Yeh David Learner, We are playing Villa, tommorrow. FIFA does not allow anyone to own more than one club, for exactly that reason, to avoid the farms for clubs.

Boy, isn't that the truth.....the problem is we'd have to assemble our own seats each game with those ************ instructions. Heard they serve a good Swedish Meatball though.:D
