I'm just curious if someone could list every player to wear the number 9 shirt in order. I know a few of them, but I'm curious if there is a preformance pattern involved.

There is a pattern. No.9 is always worn by a striker, normally the best striker at the club.

I knew that, but I was wondering if the striker that wore it after a particularily good striker (Shearer, Milburn) had a pattern of being underwhellming.

Obviously it overlaps in years so it's not likely to be just their stats while wearing the No. 9, but hopefully it helps just the same.
