And although the club is only minimally in debt, its financial performance last season was almost as poor as its one on the pitch.

Villa lost £8.2m before tax, compared with a £3m profit the previous year, and income fell £51.6m to £49m, with attendances at Villa Park down 8.7%.

For those of you who wanted to know which clubs were in debt. Wasn't it 2 out of the 20?

Now that "Deadly" Doug and Dreary O'leary are gone, it seems to have that wonderful honeymoon affect on villa. I think MON is more than capable of leading villa to brighter days, possibly even europe which will definitely help the financial situation without Lerner having to dip into his own DEEP pockets.

MON is indeed off to a brilliant start. With draws at both Arsenal and West Ham hes gotten Villa into the Top 5 into the table for the first time in who knows how long. Only four games played but the future is definitely looking bright at Villa Park.
