Chivas vs Necaxa
Game 7
Location: Guadalajara
When: Saturday, 09/09/2006
Time: 5:00PM (Pacific), 8:00PM (Eastern)
Stats since the 1995-1996 Season
Matches: 26
Guadalajara's Victories: 10
Necaxa's Victories: 10
Ties: 6
Average goals per game: 2.5 goals
El Rebano Sagrado will face a team that started the tournament with two losses but has improved in thier last four games. Necaxa has defeated Pachuca and Cruz Azul and tied against Santos and Monterrey (their last game). Our defense must be disciplined and attentive to the actions of Kleber Boas, Aaron Padilla, and Fabiano Pereira. I hope to see someone other than el Chato Rodriguez in the defensive midfield. Sol or Araujo are in order here. In addition our offense must create many goal opportunities and concretize them. The hidrorayos will be faithful to their "canchero" style by attempting to eat up minutes, break up momentum, and try to deflate our Chivas performance. Guadalajara should short circuit Necaxa's plan by a relentless and constant robust attack. I expect a very good game and a great, victorious performance by our Chivas Rayadas! Vamos Rebano! Derrota a Necaxa! Tu Gente Espera El Dulce Triunfo!

I'd like to see us be as offensive as we were against Atlante.
Necaxa's defense isn't as good so they will crack under our offensive pressure.
Far as lineups I'd go with:
--------------Oswaldo-----------------
Magallon - Reynoso - Maza - Pineda
---------------- Araujo ---------------
Martinez----------------------Moncho
---------------Medina-----------------
--------Santana--------Bravo--------
HT subs:
60' Borboa for Santana
70' Esparza for Moncho
80' Patlan for Maza
or
80' Sol for Araujo - Sol has some rust to shakeoff
We should be up by 4 at the half so getting these young guys some minutes in the second half would be perfect. And yeah, Medina gets his first goal of the season.
Maza has been doing real well. Reynoso has been decent. Hope they continue. We still gotta work on our D when plays break down. I don't want us to turn into Toluca (ZZZZZZZ) but at least a bit more respectable.

Our offense will cause many problems for Necaxa. Their weak defense and their sour football will not be a great opposition.
I like your lineup. It provides equilibrium in the defense, midfield, and offense. I see that you have trust in Araujo and you placed Chato in the bench. Chato has not convinced me in any way, shape, or form. El Pato is a good choice. Araujo is a world champ and blocks the advances of the rival team fairly well. Many chivistas are clamoring for Sol. I think that he should receive an opportunity for the staring lineup. Nonetheless, either man is a very good choice.
I also would like to see Borboa and Patlan in the second half. We need to give the youngsters of our cantera more game time.
Don't worry, drowsiness and lethargy will not come to any chivista because, we follow the great Rebano who has performed the best football of the whole league. Chivas will play beautiful football not insipid football like Toluca.

Im hoping so, they really need to pick up three points this week. Kleber seems to be on a tear lately, so theyll have to keep an eye on him. But, i think if Chivas can repeat their last couple of efforts (assuming they put the goals in) they should be able to beat Necaxa. We'll see how it plays out.

Sorry to break it to you but our defense is pretty good. And our game isnt sour. Galindo will keep bofo in check and its up to rest of the guys to stop omar and venado. Im guessing the best way for chivas to attack would be to exploit vitola's right band with ramon. And if chepo puts maza against kleber one on one, expect dominance. Should be a good game.

Your Defense has given up as many goals as we have but you haven't produced as many goals as us.
Chivas 4 - 0 Necaca.

Que paso con Avila? He played some great games during the liguilla last year, why hasn't he been given a shot with the first team?

Sorry to break it to you but our offense will tear apart Necaxa's defense just like the other teams we have faced. The "canchero" style of football that your team practices is sour. Lamentably, Bofo will not play due to the red card he received in the last game. Bravo and Medina with their superior speed will outrun and evade Necaxa's defenders. Chivas will exploit the center and the flanks. Do not underestimate Maza. Maza has been playing well in the last four games. With a disciplined midfield and defense from Guadalajara, Kleber will not have the ball much and consequently will be ineffective. I agree with your last statement that this game will be a good one.

El Pituffo is a great player. As you mentioned, he demonstrated his talent in the last liguilla. He is registered in the roster for the first team. He played in the Chivas vs Toluca match. It is possible that el Chepo rotates Avila (like he does with Talavera and Michel) to play with el Tapatio of the Primera A on certain games. I hope that he receives more game time with the first team very soon.

Before we talk about winning against a "weak defense" we should talk about our weak offense. Namely, Chivas has to get past the phenomenon that also plagues the NT: plenty of chances with no balls passing between the goal posts. Someone mentioned this in the Chivas/Atlante thread, and it holds true for every game we'll pay this season.
We have this crippling tendency to make good, well-thought out plays that aren't followed through, and this is why we keep tying/losing despite playing better futbol. If we could only correct that, we could claim to be able to beat anyone in the MFL. Until then, I think it's anyone's game.

Exactly. If Chivas cant get any to go in the back of the net they arent going to get very far this apertura. They create enough chances, but they need to capitalize on their opportunities with more frequency.

I didn't catch the Chivas/Atlante game, but what I saw in the Monterrey/Chivas game was dominance by Chivas marred by a lack creativity in shooting. Omar's good, but inconsistent; ditto for Bofo, though he tends to make plays, and even that doesn't always come out right. Beyond those two, though, I'm not sure we have any decent scoring power.
So every time I watch Chivas play my thought is always something like this: "Let Omar be on the upswing today." If that comes true, we usually win. I just hope he's on for this next game.

Thats really how it is, they get down to the other end of the field with little trouble, but to finish it they are, honestly, inept. Now, i realize that soccer teams dont score on every opportunity they get, which is why there are no scorelines that read 8-6 or whatever, but the amount of goals the Chivas miss with regularity is stunning and heartbreaking. I think its safe to say the Atlante game was a repeat of the Monterrey one, just different day and place.
We need three points. Im going to get a torta Saturday for luck.

Tear us apart like you did with atlante? or with monterrey? with cruz azul? Im sorry to say, but theres only one game that the team has teared someone apart (santos and that was with 2 stupid ass errors of a central). We played like the canchero style with cruz azul because it was a desperate need for points. But if you saw how we played against rayados, thats really how we do it.
Im not going to come here and say we win, but your overconfident and underestimating our team.

We dominated in those games, we just had bad luck, and yes I will underestimate your team.. we win 3-1

we'll knock em out, bam bam! kleber my rear end, he aint nothin compared to the defensive stylings of names like maza rodriguez and hector reynoso, BAM.
any team that sells itself and its fans to please an older bro deserves no respect, BAM BAM BAM... let's do it  santana couldnt connect, so we got omar "el mas" bravo to do some physical damage if necessary :)
...oh and plus they stole our uni. so boo  ha trying ta spice things up a bit, idk. doesnt matter who we're playing, we gotta take 100% of these points RIGHT NOW! our offense has "penetrated" against the competition's defense and done some damage but we haven't achieved the "rapage" neccessary ta win yet because our players fail to follow through. man, dont know wat ta say except AWANTE ROJIBLANCO, ya merito
