i think it is time for a thread like this. if one like this already exists, then i am sorry and the mods can close it. now with all the qualification matches coming up, i think there will be a lot to discuss.
i have seen the germany-ireland match this weekend.
lahm: the usual confident performance, very secure. good game from him. he played on the right side on saturday and kept damien duff under control very well.
schweini: made some mistakes, but a solid performance overall. was involved in some of germany's best chances. he made the assists for klose's dangerous header in the forst half and poldi's in the second half. also hit the post after a freekick.
poldi: very good match. had quite a few opportunities, but was often a bit unlucky. scored the only goal. although it was a deflection, he definatly deserved it. he worked very hard and with some luck could have scored another goal.
i also heard that owen made a good game (against andorra:D  ), but i didnt hear anything about the other players. anyone know how lucio, karimi, sagnol, etc.. played?

Yea, Owen had another MOTM performance for England. Lucio was the captain against Argentina yesterday and was very very solid. The new Brasil team coached by Dunga is looking very balanced.

This Wednesday the England NT will visit my country for a qualification match with my country,Macedonia. The price is a bit high for our standards(40 euros)but this is the match of the season for us,so we have to be there.Owen is in the starting line-up,so I will keep an eye on him, although I hope my beloved country wins;)

i watched live the match Brazil vs Argentina, Lucio wore the captain band, 1st time i think. He was the best player in defense for Brazil, really solid, didn't give Tevez a single chance.:D

Actually its 35 caps, 20 goals. Most impressive record nonetheless, he's also scored against Brasil, Australia, Mexico in Confederations Cup, 2X against Sweden...! Congrats Lukas!

Believe it or not, I sat through Korea v. Iran. Iran lucky to draw 1-1, although they could have won 2-1 if Karimi hadn't whiffed on an absolute sitter inside the 6. A ball was squared to him, all alone in the 6. He had nearly half the goal width to aim for, and he almost missed the ball entirely. An utter embarrassment to cap a thoroughly crap performance. I have NO confidence in Karimi to do anything to help us in any way, shape or form.
As the English fans like to say: GET RID.
