Good for them, I'm sure they'll get paid more over there.

The professionalization of refs is important. Can you imagine if this becomes widespread and leagues buy refs the way teams buy players?

I was in the Sultanate of Oman for about five months last year.
Qatar has the best domestic league in the Middle East and it attracts many decent players from Brazil and across Europe. The money is the big attraction, but at least with such an attraction, it'll attract decent to good players. The league also attracts a lot of European refs so why not add some Mexicans, right?

While the Emirates are probably willing to pay more, the Qatari league is considered the most competitive and best. I'll be glad to see a few Mexicans there.

I was a big fan of Doha (the city). Fun times. Well, at least I had a lot more fun in Doha than in Dubai (in the Emirates).

That's great, those clubs have money and I'm guessing they saw Archundia at the Italy vs. Germany and said we need one of those world class referees, so it is kind of a compliment.
