Why why why why why (if it's true that we are about to buy Malbranque that is) why why why???????

I thought we were after a left winger? Maybe I was wrong, but I'm sure that the left wing position has become a priority?
So let me get this right; we bought a right-footed right-back (Lee) and play him at left-back. Davids (who just happens to be a defensive central midfielder) plays on the left-side of midfield, but keeps coming into the centre as he's not a left-sided player, leaving our right-back, playing on the left exposed........(btw, at this point, I also got confused).
We then attempt to sell our right-back (Lee), playing now on the right, and buy a right-footed creative central midfielder (who I've also seen play on the right-wing on many occasions), reportedly on £30,000 per week, to play on the left.....deja vu anyone???

We've bought Malbranque to cover Lennon on the wing and hopefully to replace Jenas in the middle. Routledge has gone the other way so it's pretty much a straight swap. And lets face it, what's Routledge ever done for us?
Malbranque has a lot of quality, you will see

Actually Lee YP is a right-footed left-back who can also play on the right but prefers to play on the left.

....so we haven't actually filled in our priority position of left wing then?

....I think you'll find that it's not Lee, but Guus Hiddink that prefers Lee as a left-back.

....Speak to Bruce and ask him if he want's Murphy. If he does, we'll tell Martin.
Jenas will come good.

Hey guys, I haven't been following spurs for long, is it common practice for the club to swoop for an entire truckload of players at the last moment? :p
BTW, I just read that the deal for Lee to go to Roma fell through because he didn't want to go.

Not just Hiddink - Lee himself has said a number of times that he prefers playing on the left, and throughout much of his career he has played on the left, either as a MF or a LB.

....no. We've still got Chimbonda, Routledge, Ghaly, Davenport and Kewell to come into that team.

dude, murphy when played properly is your best creative attacking central midfielder, he destroyed defences last season at charlton linking with bent untill you bought him and wasted him
seriously, he shits all over jenas (not hard)

....No wonder Jenas spends more time in the shower than any other play at Spurs.

Looks like the Malbranque deal went through. But get this - he's injured and probably won't feature until November!
The only logical explanation I can think of is that he's a preemptive-replacement for someone whom we'll sell in January (please be Murphy...)
The good news is that there's no way Jol has bought him to play as a left winger as he (more than anyone else) knows we need someone now. So look out for a left winger arriving by midnight.
