The Korean media have just started reporting that Lee Young-Pyo will be moving to AS Roma... Have you guys heard anything about it?

No, I haven't heard anything about this from anywhere. But, if I were to guess, I'd think the story had something to do with Spurs apparent interest in obtaining Mido's rights from Roma. It may be that Roma are interested in LYP, but this would be the first I've heard of it. Several sources have said that Mido will be returning to White Hart Lane before the transfer window closes.

WTF?

If this is true, then Spurs will need 2 fullbacks. It doesn't make sense to offload a starting fullback for a #3/4 striker.

yep could happen. his agent said they have agreed terms.

maybe tottenham will still try and get Chimbonda

Sounds very much like Lee will go to Roma and Chimbonda will come in. I'm not worried in the slightest, we tend to come out best with this sort of transfer dealing. LYP's a bit lightweight for the premiership IMO anyway.

Another report suggested Defendi could also be on his way to Roma

And now CHimbonda has threatened Wigan with legal action if they refuse to let him move to Spurs.

Very risky business we're doing here.

It sounds like a recycled story, the same rumour was going round last season.

After the Duff debacle, I don't believe my source anymore. But this is what he's said:

"Lee will most probably move to Roma depending on if Chimbonda signs for us".

Remember guy's, this is the same person that told me that Duff had 100,000,000% signed for us.

....I think Naybet from FTL has said that Chimbonda is basically done, and Lee is on the out....others have agreed with this, so hopefully thats the case. Also they say that Malbranque is on his way.....should be an interesting couple of days.

Although i may not have any power for Wednesday and Thursday, as we have a tropical storm coming our way.

Mido in, Chimbonda in, Malbranque in, Baptiste in, Downing in, Lee out ... usually when we have this many transfer rumors about Spurs the only transfer in or out tends to be the Danny Murphy variety. :D

Haven't heard anything about it, but this move wouldn't surprise me at all. Lee hasn't imposed himself on the premiership the way Jol wanted - and the club knows it - given its pursuit of Chimbonda. That's not to say he's a bad player, just not suited to the English style of play. Personally, I think he'd be much better off in Seria A for that reason.

All the signs seem to favor such a move: (1) clearly something finally persuaded them to give us Mido for the price we wanted all along; (2) Roma is in dire need of players after their transfer ban; (3) Stalteri was the starting RB for most of last season and he is coming back to fitness; (4) We've been pursuing Chimbonda the whole summer and there are signs that he's finally coming.

Personally, I wouldn't mind the deal going through, as long as we sign a replacement.

Edit: Ton of "articles" about it on News Now

...why do you say that mate? If I was him, I would want to at least listen to what Spurs have to say. Wouldn't you?

The more I think about it, the more I realise that Murphy will be used in any deal for either "I-Want-£40,000-A-Week Malbranque" or for Chimbonda. Let's face it, both Fulham and Wigan respectively, would do well with a Murphy in their teams.

Wigan are missing "I-Look-Like-A-70's-Eastend-Jack-The-Lad Bullard", and Fulham would have a straight replacement for Malbranque.

But then again, as Spurs fans looking in from the outside on a possible Malbranque purchase, must be pondering to ourselves; "why on Earth are we buying a right-footed central midfielder....again?"

We arent missing Bullard actually

Your are perhaps right about Murphy though. Although he'd probably have to settle for a place on the bench.

Unfortunately Murphys missus is too interested in going to film premiers than his career - and obviously he wouldnt get invited to many of them if he was playing for little Wigan.

Anyway the Wigan Observer reckons Levy has finally given in and is offering the full £6m. Nice one ! :D

not sure if you have notcied but since ekotto arrived - lee has been playing at right back, having seen him play in the last 3 games it is clear he does not have a right foot!

can someone please tell me on which side chimbonda plays on?!

Not sure if you've noticed, but Lee is right footed.

Chimbonda's a right back.

Good luck with that - looks like it'll be heading my way after it pays you a visit! Oh yeah, I don't want to see Lee go - I think he's been much better at right back this year and I'm no fan of Chimbonda (if we even get him).

Disappointed with this.

As I have said all along, I am not a fan of Chimbonda. If it's him in and Lee out then I am not impressed.

Lee's a good little player but too lightweight for the premiership and not particularly good going forward. I think we'll see that Chimbonda is far more athletic and a far superior footballer to Lee. Jol knows what he's doing. There's a reason Chimbonda was in the premiership team of the year last year and was drafted into the french WC squad. Also he was probably the main reason Wigan had such a good year.
