Just wondering where a Yank could get a drink before the Portsmouth match in a couple of weeks. I found the following pubs are close and just wondered which one(s) to visit and which to stay clear of.
Anchor & Hope
Rose of Denmark
The Antigallician
Bugle Horn
White Swan
Also, any idea what time they open?

I think the antigallician is near the train station on the major corner.. but either way if you take the train or tube + bus you get dropped off and will walk by pubs on the way to the ground. If you want advice on fish/chips that I can provide, not much help on which pubs to go to. :)
At any rate, I'm sure the pubs are open long before you'll think about getting to the ground. It's England.
Do you know which stand your tickets are in?

I don't have the ticket in hand yet, but I believe I'm supposed to be in the North West, section B. I purchased the ticket through club on-line and then a week later better tickets were available....but of course I can't get them to respond to an e-mail now about changing the ticket to a better location. No huge deal.

nice parts about nw quad is that you can get into north upper by walking through the seats and north lower through the concourse as they use the same turnstiles to get in .. and the player tunnel is right below nw, so makes for good photos..
bad part about nw is that is the area where almost everyone is single game ticket buyers so your not getting the die hard fans sitting around you..

The NW section is next to the Die hard season ticket holders and the Drum section the atmosphere against Pompy will be absolutely superb and it should be a really good match if its anything like last season.
North stand lower section D Row A seat 28 season ticket holder Come on you Addicks! :D

Yes, that is why I think sitting in nw is a good option being right next to north upper. both the times I sat there I was sitting next to visiting supporters (boo!) when I was hoping to sit next to people who go all the time. I believe that most of the nw quad is the block of tickets that by FA rules the team must keep for single game sales, is this correct?
Welcome to the board macsen.
